Really Lucas?

Weber should have expected a blindside hit because Pacioretty hit Kadri from behind?

You can blame the refs all night long for missing the call and letting this escalate.

But it was a cheap shot by Kadri, responding to a cheap shot he received a few seconds before.

Dumb plays and dangerous stuff all around.

I thought it was an excellent opportunity to hit a player, who makes a habit of trying to run star players. Weber made a very dirty (uncalled) hit on Matthews earlier in the game. As a result, a new line with Martin playing on Matthews wing was formed. It's unfortunate that this type of sh!t happens, but it can be expected when an opponent is badly outmatched. Weber much like Chara, gets away with a many borderline cheap shots, in the same manner that Scott Stevens used to. I'm sick of it. The hit by Kadri was no where near as dirty as the one he received earlier and how one of Benn or Weber were not tossed for third man was a puzzle. Other than that, great game for the Leafs, and I thought he Habs and their fans handled the loss with great class and dignity, especially Gallagher.

He could've turned his head and seen Kadri coming so I don't think it's technically a blindside hit. With that said it was really close and it was dangerous in general. Still legal though imo.

Fair enough but I think Weber took an ill-advised path with his head not on a swivel really. The only way he get's hit directly from the front is from Symba jumping over the glass. Agree to disagree it is.

There a lot of little things that creep into the game that I dislike. One being players trying to spin off hits instead of absorbing, tapping is a bad one that they've tried to address (I guess...), etc etc.

We're trying to have a civilized discussion here.

I won't stoop to that level.

Can somebody please put up an animated .gif of the hit so we can get to the bottom of this?

Thanks

And in completely unrelated news:

The City of Toronto should sue the Dallas Stars for copyright infringement.

Settle the whole thing out of court for Klingberg and Benn.

Good player, gotta appreciate his determination and implication in the game.

I could do without the occasional dangerous plays.

the way the rules are, it's a clean hit.

i think it's the puck carry's responsibility to keep their head up. you gotta know hits are coming.

I don't know, Scabby - hard for me to find anything wrong with that hit.

He' coming out from behind the net - it's the player's responsibility to protect himself.

Kadri hits him shoulder to shoulder - never leaves his feet. Kadri positions his body properly so he doesn't drive him into the boards.

Sorry, buddy, but that's just a good, heavy forecheck. Nothing wrong with that.

Weber is turned that way because he's trying to protect the puck with his body. It's a good play, but no apologies if Kadri then tries to go through the body to get the puck.

I want more dangerous plays. Gotta keep the opposition guessing.

this. weber carried the puck for a long time and got caught with his head down.

on the full clip of the sedin hit, he carries the puck way longer and basically cuts into the middle of the ice.

those guys are free targets to be hit.
