leafs played a solid road game all game. to say the other team shouldnt have any scoring chances or take aways isnt realistic. especially when theyre coming off a horrible loss and looking to rebound right out of the gate. leafs patience was key. that and not giving habs many chances in close. solid game.

it wasnt untill it was 4-0 that cbc announcers admitted leafs had taken over the game... have to agreed on alot of the early habs chances were from perimeter

Hmm...I’m thinking Edm. But what trade would make sense so that they both lose?

Joe Bowen on radio. Infinitely better than the crap we have to endure on tv.

Wow. Berger has gone cray cray!
The only way Lou Lams could be thinking like this is if he's gone senile on us. And I think Shanahan would then step in and nix any such trade anyways before kindly putting our GM out to pasture.

Its funny that you leafs fan think kadri is 100% allowed to take runs at players because he got a bad hit. yes Patch deserved a penalty. But typical kadri is andgry and tries to injure an other player on the same play. Luckily for him, Weber is tall enough that he didnt hit his head.

Too bad Benn tried to jump in, he probably saved kadris life.

Awesome game last night.

So funny reading all the idiot twitter comments from the Habs fans. Sadly some of them do remind me a bit of the Leafs fans mentality during the Burke "TRUCULANCE" era. I remember being so proud of the Orr and Maclaren fight victories, probably because it was the only victory we had most of the time.

Amazing how Kadri is being demonized though. I'm still amazed he was the only one to get a penalty out of that mess. As someone else mentioned, if the ref had called the obvious illegal hit on Kadri none of the rest would've even happened, including the 2 on 1 where Benn and Weber wouldn't even let Kadri get to his feet before trying to hit him.

Good...I thought I was the only won who though Hughson and Simpson were complete douche bags. Gonna mention something on some sort of CBC comment section. Get them both sent back out West where they belong. They can call the Nucks games.

Do you honestly think Weber didn't know Kadri was coming?

Kadri was hit from behind - Patches hit him right on the numbers and sent him face first into the boards.

Kadri hit Weber from the side, more the front than the back. I'm not sure he was targeting Weber's head, but I'll admit he may have hit his head as well as his shoulder. I can understand why it could have been a penalty, mostly I just have a problem with nothing else being called - inconsistency is the biggest problem with NHL refs.

Not sure how Benn and Weber get away with throwing him to the ice (twice - once each) and Weber hitting him on the back while holding him to the ice.

It's religious thing, and if anyone says otherwise so they're lying sack of poop.

Saw people on Twitter comparing to omar khadr for (frank) sakes.

They're saying he's always been a turtling coward yet he hasn't once turtled . Reading the crybabies who have no clue is priceless.

It's almost comical listening to two huge Leaf haters call a Saturday Night game. The only bigger kick in the balls for baby hughie that could be sweeter for Leaf fans would be if the Leafs laid a similar ass ploughing on the Canucks on a Saturday Night.

Galchenyuk and Drouin are comparable to Nylander and Marner. Sure it took more sucking to get also get guys like Kadri and Reilly high in the draft, but Matthews is everything, by far the key piece that changes the whole team.

I wish Kadri gave all the Habs players AIDS.

But unfortunately he doesn't listen to me

Agreed - Kadri has come a long way as a player, has become one of the leaders on this team. I have no problem with the hit on Weber, it should happen more often. Weber's hit on Matthews was dirty and loaded with intent - could have easily been tossed from the game. Good on Babcock for putting Matthews on a line with Martin to at least try to discourage targeting our star player. It would be great if Weber had a target on his back every (frank)ing game we play against the Habs from now on.

He absolutely turtled last night - only because he didn't know where the punches could be coming from, and you know Naz was thinking from both Weber and Benn.

No choice but to turtle when jumped by 2 from behind.

He's squared up with bigger guys than him every time he's been asked(remember backes?), never backed down never turtled when called on before.

These idiots are talking about respect and honour, and saying hits from behind (2 of them) were perfectly clean and 2 guys jumping another guy after a clean hit is respect and honor? (frank) that.

Clueless dummies

Pretty sure I saw Martin having a little chat with Deslauriers...a short chat.
