its not the up top, those teams had better depth. Back then we had the complimentary guys but no franchise guy. They got the franchise guy now but in an effort to complete the core they gave up all the would be depth for non core players.

Of course they were. Those teams finished with 90, 91, 100, 96, and 89 points and won their division

The problem with those teams wasn't that they were bad. The problem was they weren't good enough.

Brodin hasn’t been living up to expectations for them this season, & there has been talk they’re disappointed in Dumba’s play as well

Or could we get a defenseman from Pittsburgh for taking on Hagelin?
He’s got 1 year left as well, 4.0mil
I’d like Dumoulin from them, but I doubt they’d trade him

it doesn't. scandella is an upgrade over kulikov the same way he was over gorges. neither solves the top pair issue.

The draft is the best (read as only) way imo
