That was a definite interference on derek dorsett lol. Anytime a player loses his stick in the mid section of another player and throws his hands up in the air, hes usually guilty lol

It was a chicken sh**it call on DD.

He hasn't been on ice since. Also no one has mentioned the turnover by Nilsson.

I rewound that call on DD what a bunch of BS!!!

edit: karma like the make up call on Sutter...

Yeah, the interference call on Dorsett was pretty weak, Blues broadcast gave a solid replay of it. Very weak officiating this game, though it's been weak both ways, lots of high sticks on Canucks missed as well.

Not sure why Canucks fans were mad at refs at the end of the period though. Pretty obvious on the replay Steen gloved the puck down, which counts as playing the puck. No idea why it took them so long to blow the whistle, but it was the right call.

I am sure Nucker is making fun of McCann and 2nd for Guddy in his own way.
- Retinalz

Yes he is, a got a chuckle when a few jumped in, Marner is a really good player, Toronto won’t be giving up on him for cheap.

It was right Cal, but he closed hand on puck, which is another penalty or at least it is supposed to be.

I hear you. But did Blues have control/possession gloving it down? If he did then shouldn't he get called for it?

regardless of hand on puck Steen never had possession…play should have went on and goal should have counted. Gonna suck if that call costs us the game.

You got to put some blame on Biega for that goal too. He gave it away when he had time and space. Then decided to join Jake who body checked his guy on the wall instead of Biega taking the open man who scored.

Tanev can't come back soon enough. Maybe also stop Hutton from panicking to throw pucks out of play for penalties.

- Nuck4U

Bottom line is the forwards need to have enough speed in the defensive zone regardless of Nilssons giveaway or Biega…Sedins looked like they were having tea.

But yes Pizza Hutton needs to stop throwing the puck over the boards.

If ref deems that he gloved it down, but closed hand on puck, should have been penalty.
That was a penalty when I refer 25 years ago, not sure if that part has changed under these new rules that they have put in .

You are allowed to to have possession of the puck in your glove, you just have to immediately throw it down. Closing your hand around the puck is the name of the penalty, but it's not actually what the penalty is for. To be a penalty, you have to skate with the puck in your hand. Once he had control of the puck, the play was dead, so even if he had skated with it there shouldn't have been a call, anymore than a player picking up a puck and tossing it to a linesman after an icing.

Yep. And the good news right now is that the Canucks have so many prospects looking good that even if they don't all hit (and they won't), it's more likely that at least some of them will.

I talked about that in my Goal Posts column this week - one of the best things about Boeser is that he looks to be just one guy on the crest of a big wave of talent.

http://westender.com/goal...ie-of-the-year-1.23094655

I heard Iain MacIntyre on a podcast about a week ago, saying that this prospect pool is the deepest he has seen in his 26 years covering the Canucks. I thought that was quite a statement.

Comets were in 21 st place before tonight and got beat soundly tonight. Benning has some misses and some wins

I really don't like how close he is with the players.

I don't know what the rules were then to say they changed, but 67.2 specifically reads "A player shall be permitted to catch the puck out of the air but must immediately place it or knock it down to the ice. If he catches it and skates with it, either to avoid a check or to gain a territorial advantage over his opponent, a minor penalty shall be assessed for 'closing his hand on the puck'." in this years rulebook.

Edit: that said, Blues had too many men on the change that led to their first goal, so Canucks fans are right to feel like the officiating has cost them regardless.

How's the game been? I'm busier than a one legged ass-kicker this morning and I haven't been able to follow along. It looks as though they're holding their own with a good team.

Better than expected. The kids have been good. Eriksson doubled his point production to 4.

Twins although playing better skills are fading.

Benning is getting new contract

Blew a 3-1 lead…blown call by officials cost us the 4th goal but I highly doubt it would have mattered. Back to back weak goals by Nilsson on the 3-4 goals…looks like Marky is back in

and Oh yeah Edler sucks.

What about botched call on Canucks goal called back in 3rd they wouldn't have lost it in OT.

Only good thing about this loss is TG can change line up. Like Gagner not covering for pass to Edmunson on tying goal. Plus no offensive impact by Gagner should be reason enough to sit next game.

Pouliot may get yanked for a couple break downs. Letting game winning goals last two games. Tanev drawing in. But I hope it's Biega sitting out instead.
