Yea sucks they lost but it happens. They did just beat Tampa and the blues on the road and overall have played well. I know it's not his fault but they don't play well on front of jaro ever, I'm glad he's gone after the season but what this tram really needs and has the players and picks to get I'd a d man and I mean a top 4 or two guy. We have multiple picks in a deep draft and I'd send beau or ho sang along with maybe aho or toews to get one. Would probably require more but pay it. This team can score and it they could find a way to vet a top guy they could be contenders. Also ho sang tries too much and these guys are just poking it away from him regularly . Kind of tired of watching it over and over, hopefully he can figure it out because he has great talent but apparently not much between the ears - Upstate_isles
"But it happens." Yeah it does and far too often with this team. What separates a great team from a mediocre team is exactly this. If we strive to make 98 points every season then yoyre striving for mediocrity. Thats exctly what's wrong with this team. |

id totally be fine with 3-4 wins than 1 loss and repeat till end of season.
only reason why last night is annoying is i want to win as many divisional games as possible.
Isles have beaten the top two teams in NHL in same week, There is not reason why we cant be top in Metro.
Btw, Nick Leddy goal yesterday anyone? wow. - Spartiarti
The difference between the top Metro team and the bottom Metro team is 5 points.
Pretty sure any team in the division could be at the top. It's ridiculous. |

Right they are on pace for 98 but fix those few issues and with their scoring they are 106 or better |

98 could very well be the first wild card spot. It will probably get them into the playoffs, but they won't have home ice advantage. |

Well that's kind of my point. They have to fix what's been going on for a while. Most of us can predict pretty accurately when they're going to lose. That was kind of a big game standings wise last night and to me not something that's so easy to brush off with, "Well they beat st Louis and Tampa so no big deal." In reality they need to beat the easier teams consistently and the better teams whenever possible with the parity in the league not the opposite. Them doing what they've done for the last number of years has them mired in mediocrity at best which is exactly my point . They need to change their habits to become a legit contender I for one am not content with maybe playoffs every season are you? |

94-95 will be the cutoff for the 2nd wildcard spot.
There are a ton of divisional games left to be played. |

I said first wild card. The three point games lessen the impact of divisional games. |

Duchene wanted a trade and now he needs to show he can return to form. So glad Barzal was not moved for Duchene. |

Not one vote for Barzal for first... and he and McAvoy not even second place? LOL.

Yea well Keller is on the worst team in the league playing for a team that doesn't have any pressure. Barzal makes this team dynamic but who cares what they think anyhow. Goals are considered more important but if barzal has 10 more points at the end it would be hard to deny him. Keller had a great start and has tailed off a bit whereas barzal had 0 points in first 5 games and has gotten stronger |

Usual bingo using the isles as a reference to justify the canes existence. Nothing to see here. |

I don't care where the Canes play. I'm using the Canes (a historically terrible team with poor attendance) as a reference to show just how bad the Isles attendance has been. |

You're not factoring in ticket price, arena itself, capacity, etc. I went to two business meetings near yoyr arena last season and looked into getting tickets they had 5 dollar packages. Givemea(frank)ingbreak
We are spending 5 tines that amount just to get to the game with a e hour commute both ways for fans. Seriously |

Barclays charges 5 dollars or less for a game and throws in a free hotdog see what our attendance looks like. Even better throw in free train tickets and we sell out every game. Logistics . There's a reason there's 3 teams in the metro area and a bunch of guys much smarter than you or that flyers twat in the main thread figured it out. There's also a reason our owners are trying to build a 20000 seat arena locally that doesn't involve a 30 dollar train ticket before you spend 100 bucks or more on a seat. 5 bucks. Haha |

- Upstate_isles
Nah. I can care less really it's just people don't understand the whys when it comes to our attendance. Between the arena issues, cost of tickets, cost of commute monetarily and time wise, etc. Put all of those factors in play in Carolina they'd have 4000 people per game. There's no profit to be made there and there's a reason Bettman has been steadfast in keeping the islanders where they are between their cable deal and the known fiscal return that exists with a legit arena. I never thought Brooklyn would work for a second as anyone could attest too on this thread and that's before I even went to that craptastic arena. I'd say 80% of this thread disagreed with me and pretty much attacked me for my opinion due to the "iron clad 25 year contract" the islanders had. I laughed at that contract and everyone laughed at me for scoffing at it. Once again who is laughing now? |
