It looked to me like Malkin went out of his way to make sure his hip made contact with Crow. He could have easily avoided the contact but he seemingly chose not to. I would hope that gets a hearing. - 333inthe3rd
While I don't 100% agree that he went out of his way to make contact, to me he just never tried to avoid it. Never altered his line to make an attempt to avoid contact. Worse, it was pretty good head contact. They're trying to eliminate the head contact, I'm hoping he gets some kind of punishment. BTW, heck of a good game yesterday. The shape of things to come??? |

With one single post you have sent all of the 'Toews is finished, washed up' experts to the sidelines. And they have taken the AA haters with them - at least for one game.
Now they can go back to managing their lemonade stands instead of the Chicago Blackhawks. - RickJ
Sure hope it's freshly squeezed and most importantly you have to dissolve the sugar with hot water, always key

Hey Rick, I resemble that remark! And besides, I make a lot of $ with my lemonade stand. Methinks you are just jealous.
Nice to see #19 with a pretty solid game.
1 or 2 out of the 1st 20 ain't bad. Would be better if it was more like 10 to 15 out of the 1st 20 for the $10.5 large Stan/McD/Rocky is paying the guy.
Let's see if he keeps it up.
What I still can't figure out is why (still) all the "fly-bys" in front of the opposing goalie. Right now, only #15 willing to do the work? Certainly a few other guys are more than capable (let's see, Panik, Saad and Hayden come to mind -- all big enough boys, strong on their skates and enough size/weight). Just unwilling? I just don't get it because Artem doesn't seem to be getting beat up too bad doing the work. We must have too many "pretty boys" simply unwilling to get their hands dirty.
What size lemonade did you want Rick?

Are you comparing TT with Kane because they are tied in points. Just stop because the season isn't over yet. Let alone two totally different players Kane has proven himself to be an elite player. TT has some catching up to do he can't take over a game like Kane. You're overall Anger Issues are alarming you should seek therapy as well as medication to get it under control. |

Not at all!
Just saying we gave up a top 6 forward because of the Bickell contract.
Cherry picker 88 will get his points.
TT points would be nice in the top 6.
Oh wait Stan has Tomas Jurco ready to be a top 6.

I'll be honest Rick, I was down on 19, but watching the way he played told me he is OK. No evidence of injury, lack of passion, or any other intangible holding him back. He and his line generated several outstanding looks, but the just missed (Saad hit the crossbar on one). To me that line is generating chances and their Defensive play is also outstanding.
Yes, the 10.5 million hurts, but we have to get over that and just believe 19 is gonna get it going. Based on the energy and pace I saw last night it's only a matter of time before he and that line really start scoring in bunches, I just don't see any other result from what I witnessed last night. Tough stretch of games coming up, and no better time than now for those guys to start putting pucks into the net. - kwolf68
Nice to see JT have one nice game and lets all hope this kind of spirited performance continues but one game does not erase two years sub par performance so lets not plan the parade just yet.
It's a good sign, lets hope the team can build on the momentum.

Look at it this way. TT is playing on a team with NO PRESSURE TO WIN. Much easier to play night in and night out when you are not expected to be a winner.
TT is fine playing where he is. Good for him. He had an opportunity to play in Chicago, and he never took advantage of it. |

So they sweep the Stanley Cup champs 12-2 when they really come out to play but get whacked in Vegas & Colorado in October when nothing much matters. Now the fans are encouraged and are back riding on the hay wagon - maybe only until the Tampa Bay game.
Frankly, I think the Hawks would be a better team playing 75% of their games on the road; schedule a once a week game at the UC where they rarely seem to play all that well.
I've just seen too much hockey played by legitimate stars in this league over the years - Crosby, Lemieux, Gretzky, Lafleur, Bossy, Datsyuk, Lidstrom, Messier etc. The big boys know how and when to bring it when it counts, usually against players they benchmark themselves against. Maybe Toews isn't quite in their category but he's got the team skins on the wall that measures up against any of them. Unfortunately his salary offends some fans.
Large lemonade please with room for some vodka, I just had to watch the Buffalo Bills in action.

Top 6 with tons of skill. Would help the PP a ton.
Nah we dump him because Stan has no clue with Contracts.

Yeah this is some of our core, I don't expect the core to bang, but there are times Keith, Toews should use there body to make a play and it seems they do everything they can to avoid contact. |

Don't look now but Alligator Arms Tuevo Teravainen grew a pair and is basically a Point-Per-Game player for the Canes. Bowman the Capologist strikes again. Was never a big fan of his but a highly skilled first round pick Stan had to give away to shed a contract....anyways...heck of a road win last night! Debrincat with 20+19 would be interesting as 12 is looking more and more comfortable possessing the puck and making a positive play with it. Panik has been ehh for a while too. |

Great insight - thank you
So, you'd not try DBC with Line 1? I feel like with Toews, Panik, and Saad, you have three very similar players w/out one being a major outside offensive threat. If you've got three guys at the net or in the corners, who is shooting? - pdx2ord
AdB is a scorer - he needs to get shots up.
Last nite - with Sharp and Hartman - he had only 1 SAT - a missed shot. Hartman had no SATs - altho Sharp put 5 on net.
AdB somehow needs to be a focus on a scoring line - he needs to get the puck where he can do something with it. |

No. Not the point at all.
Reading is a skill.
TT or Sharp?
TT or Panik?
TT on PP major upgrade.
If Stan had any balls he would stop with the BAD contracts & trades
Oh wait if we cut Seabrooks minutes to 6 a game he won't look so bad & the contract looks better |

Happy 29th Birthday Kaner!!
https://blackhawkup.com/2...khawks-star-patrick-kane/
Quote from Kane...
“If I’m one of the best players in the league, I want to become better,” he says. “And I have a different version of what that might mean. I’d be lying if I told you goals and assists aren’t important, but it’s more than that. I want to be more consistent, more dominant, better at takeaways and on power plays, better in my own end, better at controlling the game when I have the puck.”

I left you room for a good 8 oz of Stoly (I know how you like things from Russia), now I am getting thirsty, might have to pour myself one Rick.
BTW, re the UC performances, always feel bad for the folks ponying up big $'s and in fact, when I've seen the boys play the last several years, I've made it a point to make it a road trip with the family. For the cost of 4 good tiks to the UC, I can get even better seats, cost of gas, nice hotel and food and still have some coins jingling in my pocket.
You and I (and Hawk nation) can only hope that #19 remembers he needs this kind of performance on a more regular basis -- w/o it, we're not likely to make the dance and if we do make it in, we need that kind of performance EVERY night to have a chance. We'll see what kind of season this turns out to be. I am still on the fence but hopeful.

Vegas just won their seventh straight home game. How much of that is opposing players going out on the town before the game? I would like to think that a professional hockey player would be more disciplined than that, but I just don't see Vegas having good enough players to be this good, especially at home. |
