Geezus man, you really need to grasp reality. They could lose 8-0 and you find something good to say about this team. They are who they are, and that is not a very good team overall. A coach who plays guys who are hurting this team every game and offer nothing in the way of helping them. A GM who everyone mostly has put up on a pedestal as this GOD who will has become the most amazing leader of building this team. Sure he has drafted well, but you can't say he has become a great GM just thru drafting. Until this team starts progressing, I will reserve judgement on him until he is either canned or we become a stable up and coming consistent winning team.

Drafting and development takes time and he's been somewhat handcuffed based on salary cap constraints. His only real bad signing has been Weise, but by and large, he's set them on the right path going forward. I'd put more criticism on the shoulders of Hakstol. It's now been 2.5 years, and I have yet to identify a real team identity or style of play that the team can build around.

Don't you know the coach can't do anything. Since these guys are well paid they should be self taught how to not go offsides or take really stupid penalties. Coaching is way overrated and takes no responsibility for losses.

The coach is responsible to put the right guys on the ice at the right time and Hakstol has no clue about this part of the game, actually has no clue about anything. Fact is a good coach wins more games that you think, decisions are required that require some insight into the game and what is happening on the ice. Weise does not belong in the lineup, Lehtera and Simmonds are so slow they belong in old timers league.

Results sucked and I only saw the 3rd period and OT but what I saw was more entertaining than a number of recent Flyers games.

They will not make the playoffs ever with Hakstol brain dead decision making and roster mangagement. The guy is the biggest joke in the NHL, followed closely by Hextall and oh by the way Schenn has 14 points in the last six games, 25 on the season. Lucky guy he got away from this Hak and Hex train wreck of a manangement team.

I know this may be cliche to say about the team in the shootout era, but I dread a tie game because I know the odds are they'll lose in either in OT or the shootout.

Again, I don't know why you bring Hextall into this...he by all measures (Hockey Writers, Pronman, Bleacher Report) has built a top-5 farm system out of what was a desolate wasteland just a few years. He's been restricted by what he can do due to the cap. As far as Schenn, good for him, but it doesn't change my opinion that trading him at peak value wasn't a smart move getting to first round picks back
