I mean if something did happen that he wasn't suspended, you can't get that game back. Again. I know he will receive a suspension but just seems like a procedural fairness thing.

Although I know he will receive a suspension, i find it interesting that a player can't play before his hearing. Basically it's saying it doesn't matter what you say, you're being suspended. I mean if something did happen that he wasn't suspended, you can't get that game back. Again. I know he will receive a suspension but just seems like a procedural fairness thing.

A player is entitled to a hearing per the CBA. Based on the fact that he has an in person hearing means that he is definitely being suspended and likely for 5 games or more. The hearing is just to determine for how long. This game counts towards that suspension. He is already suspended.

I do know how it works. They don't frame it this way when the hearing is announced. If they said, he is suspended 5 games and will be given an in person hearing to determine if and how many more it would be more accurate.
