So Columbus just overpaid for Cam Atkinson. 5.875 for 5 more years! He's going to be putting up almost 60 points a season till he is 33 years old? I doubt that. They want him to earn it, better trade Van back for Sam Gagner.

7 years for Atkinson. he'll be 35 or 36 at the end of it. Awful deal. maybe theyll trade us Jenner

Thanks Carol!

Nilsson, virtanen, burmistrov need to play
Gagner, vanek need to sit

- Codes1087

Vanek has been playing pretty well. Much better than I expected. Guance can go to Utica or the press box, it doesn't matter.

We need Tanev back and Edler can go somewhere else.

Dregger is reporting Matthews' warts have gone down but it still burns when he pees. Game time decision.

My opinion is he has made too many mistakes. LE is unforgivable. He has not found a top line replacement or a top pair Dman.

I don't find him to be a drafting savant . I think it is time to depart with the twins and management and as ASL says let the real rebuild start.

All that said Aquilini will probably give him a Loui Eriksson contract for 6 more years

I said the same thing after every win also

I think this is my largest frustration with TG/Newel Brown – that players in the past (Ganger, Boes) do very well with specific players or specific situations (like both in their respective spots on the PP.) But it feels to me they're trying to make a certain player fit a certain aspect of their system, rather than helping to adapt that player's strength to their system. That's not to say the player doesn't have to change some and buy in, but not recognizing certain skillsets isn't helpful.

I also feel, because of his 'development' mindset, he may be harder on the kids to teach them the right things, and just sort of lets the vets off easier knowing they're not going to be around as long? Would still like to see him come down tougher on some vets though, the Sedins especially look half awake out there – the precision and attention has really dropped from their game.

TG is still feeling out the team as it hasn't hit the 1/4 pole yet. There is a lot to figure out for him and the players. So mistakes and situations that aren't working out will arise. The biggest difference is that there are adjustments. A willingness to try new things.

I agree part of development for young players has always been being hard on them. It more effective on a rebuilding team. Though you got JV back in for next game to prove he's learned and is taking another step.

Granlund on wing again is a better fit for him. Green is still searching for the player who will be the fourth two way center to complete a line. Gagner is getting that look as he needs to show more. If he doesn't perform won't be surprised if Burmi draws back in.

Though I think the center issues will drag out until Gaudette and EP make their way onto the team. Until then its only Bo and Sutter with Hank filling in.
