A top 3 pick in the draft is huge. 1oa will get the best d man in a few years. Svechnikov, while a winger, is still someone i would draft. Boqvist has to be number 3. Gotta go BPA with our 1st pick
- Codes1087

Not sure who Benning has as BPA. I don't even have Boqvist in my top 10. The more I see of Dahlin the more I think he is clearly number 1. I have Wilde and McIsaac ahead of Boqvist and Samuels sons moving up on him.
Also a couple other defenseman I am watching, but hard to get Finnish material.
Tkachuk and Veleno at centre.

It would have to be Tanev that could get back a first . I don't think that is a good move. I think a year of OJ and Tanev would help his career
- VANTEL

I think having Tanev around to help OJ is a great idea - and to be honest i've never been on the trade Tanev train. When he's not injured he's extremely valuable to this team.
Vanek is on pace for 45+pts - there's a chance you get a first for him - a lot of what IFS tho.

Boqvist is in a lot of top 10s - Wilde, Woo and Bouchard can all score as well - but they're floating around 8-20 picks. But thats really what he need in terms of D.

As for forwards - Brady Tkachuk hasnt scored a goal in 13 games yet but he's still top 5 in most lists. I think Wahlstrom would be a great center but he has to commit to it. I like McShane for his playmaking abilities too - i think he's gonna start rising

Bode Wilde is going to rise.

He is PPG against division 1 NCAA teams as a 17 year old.
Plus he is a right shot.

Hopefully they offload someone at the TDL and get another late first

Use the first pick for a D and the late 1st for a C?

- Brooks_Light

Getting another pick is possible...probably at TDL or maybe in off season... there are options to sell. But a first is probably is a long shot of a hope.

Though it seems to be a top D loaded draft so that will bode well to get a center in the second round.

They got a load of left side youngings to nurse from Pouliot, Hutton, Holm and OJ. Heck even Tree if he comes back soon. So Tanev's need is high. Not just being one of the best defensive D in the NHL.

I'd rather have his brother

I think he'll go late teens, he's fast and is a pass first centerman, not a bad pick, I just wish he had his brothers snarl.

That was impression I got as well. Still not too bad of a player.

So how long do we give Granlund a free pass? Sure the kid plays well defensively, but .like Gaunce, doesn't offer up much in the way of offense.
Averaging 16:33 per game with 3 points is a piss poor stat. This guy appears to be left alone by the many critics in here because he had a mediocre season last year.
This guy is below the point totals of Jake,( the team's lowest ice time recever). Jake plays 7 minutes less than Granlund, usually has to babysit 2 players that aren't capable to be in this league, other than their "legendary" status.
Time for this team and it's fans to quit giving players free rides for past performance, or perceived performance in Granlund's case.
We are extremely quick to jump all over players like Virtanen or Gudbranson or Sutter or Dorsett or Edler, yet golden boys like Stecher or Granlund escape this criticism.

Granny is a Benning pick-up. Also, I think you are being a bit selective in your thoughts of who and who does not get criticism... Gaunce just arrived, he should not yet be part of this conversation. Who is jumping on Dorsett? What are you drinking? Can I have some?

I was being sarcastic as well initially - I think that went over your head. But to be clear, no you're not funny.

This will go over well in the Oilers and Yotes blog... last I looked Canucks weren't in the bottom they are part of the bubble pack. Barring further injuries they could stay there.

I se tchunk as a draft day faller, high teens perhaps.
Boqvist would be my number 2 pick begging dahlin.
Would anyone trade 5ov to 10ov for OEL?

Will Nilsson and Virtanen help the Canucks compete against a tough Blues team tonight?

I am happy with that pick. At first I wanted Glass but EP is making us believers. Judd Brackett and Benning seemed to do very well with his years first three rounds

Both look really good so far by all accounts.

Glass is the 2nd leading scorer in the WHL among all 1999 born players. My other boy Heponiemi is first

No AC/DC fans here I see . I liked their stuff.

The guy had lung cancer, heart problems, dementia.

He may have died today but he's been gone for a few years.

I'm not being heartless, my mother has alzheimers and I said goodbye to her last year although she could live for another decade.
