I think it helps the Leafs more in the long run. Makes Leivo a more attractive trading commodity.

The Jets have Myers on right side, byuf on right side, enstrom on left side, and need another left handed defender. The man had 43 pts last season, we should of used that and traded him in the summer for a guy that does not want to be a Jet

Lievo also gains tradeability.. He needs to play 35 games this season or turns FA. This way a team sees more value in him knowings its two years with what you want and no risk of losing him
