I saw Perrault's post game quote. He handled the incident like a tool.

That "vicious chop" certainly didn't affect his goal celly.

You're right, he should've handled it like a Radko and swung back like a dippoop

The feed last night looked HD to me. This season is my first experience with Center Ice and NHL.TV.

Like I said, it's been great so far this year, outside of a few hiccups that may have to do with my connection on any given night. Probably the best it's been, and I've had it for 6 years now.

Apology if this has already been asked.

Bill, is there anything other than skating faster in a straight line that Weise does better than Lindblom?

IMO, the answer is no, and here is my reasoning. In general, the following factors are the criteria that are used to judge an NHL winger. Let's compare Weise vs Lindblom in each.

Skating: Weise is a faster straight line skater than Lindblom, though neither is particularly agile or shifty on their skates. However Weise does get the advantage here.

Playmaking: Lindblom is clearly the better playmaker

Shot: Lindblom has a better shot than Weise

Net front ability: advantage Lindblom mainly due his having better hands

Overall hockey sense: advantage Lindblom

Defensive awareness: advantage Lindblom

Size: while Weise is a little bigger, Lindblom is better at using his size to shield the puck and win board battles, but in fairness I'll call this a push.

So, with the exception of straight ahead speed, it seems clear to me that Lindblom is the better player. He also has the experience of 2 seasons of pro play in Sweden and he's now played consistently well for a few weeks at the AHL level. I don't see how playing in the NHL at this stage in his career will damage his "development" either

Please Mr Hextall, bring this kid up!

If only it was just about if Linblom is equal to or better than Wiese is at this point. Not exactly a high benchmark to reach. It's about more than that.

How will his development be stunted by the nhl?

There is nothing stopping from a cap perspective so I'm interested to hear why it'll hurt his future prospect

Role and ice time in the AHL compared to what ice time and role he would play in the NHL. When he was sent down, Hextall said he needed to work on his offensive assertiveness. Where is the better place right now for him to work on that?

I answered your question, now I'll ask you one. If Lindblom is better than Wiese, which for the record I don't see as a stretch, why hasn't he been called up yet to replace him?

He's getting a lot of ice time, including PP1 time and PK time, on the Phantoms. On the Flyers, he'd be playing about 11 mins with likely no special teams time until down the road a bit. The goal is still for him to eventually play a top six role. He's playing decently, especially without the puck, but not setting the AHL on fire by any means. Still has only one goal that he put in the net by shooting it. The other two went off his skate and his shin pad. Let him get in a good sustained groove -- he was for about five or six games but hasn't been as effective the last few -- and then he'll be ready to be called up.

Don't even get me started on our pp. Too many lethal weapons on that pp2 that we can't have sanheim on it anymore but lehtera was a great idea apparently. There are plenty of options to recall someone. The fact is our team dating back to the end of last year is in the bottom third in the league. We have more talent than that. We keep just saying the course staying the course. The course hasn't worked since we started it in 2011.

Now that Patrick is back, Lehtera is out of the lineup, and Patrick will soon be back playing on the PP. What other forward would you remove from the PP to make room for Lindblom and where would he play on the PP?

This is Hextall's course. He's been the GM since 2014.

Idk maybe we should take a look at whose producing and whose not ? Weal tk filpula since he joined that unit for instance have not. Why can't he play pk? Our pk literally just stood there last night waiting for the jets. He would make a great addition there as well. Hasktol refusal to play him on special teams doesn't mean he can't contribute there. Just like the refusal to bring young guys in for plugs doesn't mean those guys couldn't be an upgrade. Hasktol has been an unsuccessful nhl coach he's not above questioning. Hextall outside of drafting has proven nothing. Frankly I hope the team gets sold so we can have a real owner whose involved again and these guys can actually feel pressure. They're all too comfy.

The priority right now is the development of the prospects and what is best for them. I agree that he should ride the bus until the new year minimally I think. Let him start lighting it up, get the confidence going.

Whatever is best for the propects is the priority. Morin should get a quick callup because he showed he's ready to contribute. He earned it in the preseason.

If Hextall's top priority was the '17-'18 flyers...someone needs to remind him not to make deals like the Schenn one. So lets relax about any expectations for this squad.

Maybe if we get a real owner in here we can make a run at locking up Nash long term this summer.
