Probably contract wording. One contract requires the commercials and the other don't or the other way around.

I think it's the same way with the MLB also. If you got Extra Innings you get commericals but on MLB.tv you get a commerical in progress please stand by message.

If anyone has any thoughts for the GM, Sunday is the time to share them.

https://www.nhl.com/flyer...ity/flyers-wives-carnival

Just Added: Meet & Greet Ron Hextall!
From 12:30-1:00pm Ron will be hosting an informal Q & A session with fans. From 1:00-1:30pm fans will have the opportunity to get two (2) items signed and one (1) photograph with Ron. Fans must bring their own camera for the photograph.

I bet he will get some silly question like that one from the Season Ticket holder Q&A

Apology if this has already been asked.

Bill, is there anything other than skating faster in a straight line that Weise does better than Lindblom?

IMO, the answer is no, and here is my reasoning. In general, the following factors are the criteria that are used to judge an NHL winger. Let's compare Weise vs Lindblom in each.

Skating: Weise is a faster straight line skater than Lindblom, though neither is particularly agile or shifty on their skates. However Weise does get the advantage here.

Playmaking: Lindblom is clearly the better playmaker

Shot: Lindblom has a better shot than Weise

Net front ability: advantage Lindblom mainly due his having better hands

Overall hockey sense: advantage Lindblom

Defensive awareness: advantage Lindblom

Size: while Weise is a little bigger, Lindblom is better at using his size to shield the puck and win board battles, but in fairness I'll call this a push.

So, with the exception of straight ahead speed, it seems clear to me that Lindblom is the better player. He also has the experience of 2 seasons of pro play in Sweden and he's now played consistently well for a few weeks at the AHL level. I don't see how playing in the NHL at this stage in his career will damage his "development" either

Please Mr Hextall, bring this kid up!

I have a great respect for your blogs bill and I agree vecchione should be at center. But why can't filpula benefit from a move to the wing as G did ?

G coots Jake
Weal Patrick Simmonds
Filpula vecchione Tk
Raffl Laughton leier

Feel free to play around from there.

If MacDonald is actually ready to go and in game shape than play him. Otherwise I'd rather he sit til he's absolutely 100 and Morin plays a few. I don't want to see the alt show. No thanks.

Edit: I'm also just as happy with lindblom in for Weise and filpula staying at center.

Good point, I think you're right and they do. Just seems odd that for one price I get both Center Ice and NHL.TV but the product is delivered differently.

Same if you do the baseball version. Yes I know this because I have Extra Innings to watch the Reds. And if you want inept front office they got the Flyers beat in spades.

Gamecenter showed the same message before MLB.tv took over...I am not sure why, but it is usually that way. Seems like an odd thing to do, but at least it shows a message rather than the same commercial over and over like most online streaming ads.

I have gotten commercials and even intermissions on gamecenter before

It just drives me nuts. Anyone with 2 eyes and a minimum of hockey knowledge can clearly see that Weise has no business skating in an NHL team's top 9. I get the size issue and I understand why they won't replace him with Martel, but for the love of God, replacing him with Lindblom should be a no brainer.

Maybe someone here can answer this since we know Radko will have a multi game vacation due to the in person hearing offer can the league indefinitely suspend him pending that hearing and force him to serve starting tomorrow if the hearing couldn't happen today?

Fingers crossed, knock on wood, but it's been better so far this year. It stopped streaming in HD at about the 25 game mark last year, as soon as they switched over to the MLB platform or whatever. Even games that weren't streamed live were coming through in that step under HD. God that was horrible.

The feed last night looked HD to me. This season is my first experience with Center Ice and NHL.TV.
