Since Gudas is a full-blown piece of poop I can't really give him the benefit of the doubt. At best it's accidentally-on purpose in my mind.

The biggest concern to me is the term. So many teams get soaked into it. A player's prime years are 27 - 29. You're paying him his career high salary and buying up 1 year of his prime performance, and then n years of declining performance.

Even with the cap going up, it becomes a boat anchor.

I would only sign him for 4 - 5 years. Yes he's declining but overall he's been pretty healthy and at 5.5 million to 6 million it will still be reasonable in the early 30s.
