3 minutes with the extra man and not 1 quality chance......not 1

Yes, that was bad, but there was also only 1 shot attempt taken by Columbus with Hank pulled for the extra skater! That's a positive (a tiniest bit sort of), cranny, for what it's worth to the coaching staff, after allowing Hank to face 42 shots on goal during the prior 56:44, including being under siege in that 2nd period, when Columbus both out shot them 19-9 in SOG, and had 26 shot attempts to the Rangers 14.
But "the Bob" won them that game in making 36 saves, with some being of the tougher quality as well. He is again the best current goalie in the NHL at this point, & has a .968 save % during the Blue Jackets current winning streak, since their loss to the Rangers in NY on Nov. 6th.
There was also some bad luck on their first goal by Werenski, when Desharnais poked at the puck to break up a pass, but had it deflect outward to the wide open Werenski, to which Hank had to shift quickly to his opposite left side, and Werenski released the shot immediately back to the right side Hank had just moved from, leaving him virtually no time to react back in time. In addition, their second goal by Panarin came right after a questionable interference penalty call on Buch.
So I can't be that upset with the loss, except for them being dominated in the 2nd period, and the fact that besides another 2 lost points, they have to start winning on the road, in being 2-5-0 now, after earning 56 road points last season, which was what in effect, earned them only the 1st Wild Card spot.
