How long did the rebuild take in LA? I honestly don't know. I would have to assume that during that rebuild they had these same type of growing pains. There is too much talent in the system for this team not to get better in the next year or so

Lombardi was hired in 2006 and the Kings won the Cup in 2011-2012.

Actually there as a strong contingent of posters here who thought that the young players as a group would have no problem replacing Schenn's offense.

I guess I would say that if this team is going to have their growing pains Id much rather see young guys in the lineup, like a Lindblom in place of Wiese

NHL teams just don't toss something against the wall and see if it sticks. They know with relative certainty whether players like Carey or Bardreau could help them improve. Hextall is not going to promote young player if he doesn't feel they're ready unless he is forced to. I don't think it's reached that point. Hextall may feel differently.
- MJL

I disagree with the thinking but I'm not going to debate because we have different views here and neither will sway

and to clarify, I am not saying rush young players. what I am saying is if you cannot change things with a trade, then maybe give a kid/guy who is playing well in the AHL a look see. Why do callups always have to be about injury?

I still maintain that what Gudas did was accidental and I don't think he intentionally did it. If he gets suspended, so be it. The problem I have is I have seen worse plays not get suspended.

i agree. i think he was just trying to break loose and he came down with his stick in a place that was unfortunate.

Yep. I don't believe it was intentional at all. He's getting this treatment based on reputation.

There were a lot of forecasts that had Lindblom on the Flyers top line to start the season. He probably wasn't ready for that. I haven't seen him play in LV so I'm not sure if he deserves a call up or not. I can't watch Wiese and Lehtera anymore. I've seen enough of them. The fact these guys are under contract again next year is enough to make a billy goat puke.

We have to look at what Hextall's philosophy is and how he handles things. It's simply not realistic at this point to think that a player like Lindblom is going to come up and change much. If they thought he could, he'd already be up. Can he come up and play as well as Wiese has been, sure he can. The question then becomes what does Hextall think is better for Lindblom. Continuing to develop at the AHL level or to send him up. Hextall isn't going to rush a player just to appease the fans who are justifiably frustrated. Hextall is going to look at things based on parameters and factors rather than just " what do we have to lose" or "you never know what might happen" that I keep reading from a fan perspective.

Man, I got the alert last night and asked you guys if I should not plan on seeing Gudas again until the new year, and you folks assured me that it was gonna be 2-3 games.

Then I log on today and see Old Radko's got an in-person invite and is staring down the barrel of 5-10?

My goodness! I still haven't seen it -- did he two-hand Perreault on purpose, or no?

injury is the best way to know when a prospect is ready or not...

Woof. Thanks

Yeah. That's absolutely gonna get you more than 3

I never get those right, but with Gudas being a repeat offender...not sure he's getting less than 7 for that one

Man. That backside angle is brutal. Man. If he gets seven or less, I think he might want to take that and run

Only Gudas knows what his intentions were. Players can make things look accidental when they have intent. Regardless it's extremely reckless anytime you get your stick near someone head/neck it's not good. Being he has a history he's going to get a pretty strict suspension. I'd guess somewhere in the 6-8 game range.

His repeat offender status is going to hurt him and I feel the NHL is going to choose to make him a symbol of gross inconsistency with player suspensions for a guy who I feel just lost his balance and instinctively reached his stick out and accidentally hit a guy in the head.

To be honest, that's probably what I'd give him for that one. That backside angle -- that looked pretty freaking sketchy

To me the biggest issue is secondary scoring.
I can honestly say I dont feel like goaltending has been a problem.
I dont feel like the D have been a problem.
No one can argue with the way the 3 players on the first line are playing.
Adding to that seeing Giroux bounce back a bit is great.
Coots and Jake are producing..

And then you get beyond those 3 and Ghost and literally no one else is doing anything. I'm not advocating a trade..Im not calling for a panic move. I do however see nothing wrong with swapping one/some/all the rookies for the players that are struggling.

Oh, man, I don't know. I want to believe that he didn't two-hand a guy on purpose, but man. That backside angle does him no favors

I've seen all the angles. I could be wrong but I have little doubt that it was accidental.
