Thanks Carol,

I am little disappointed that Markstrom is back in after that awesome 50 minute performance by Nilsson. I also have to question Green and his lack of development with Virtanen.

I like the fact the team as a whole are greatly overachieving but again how long can they sustain this.

I earlier stated that I thought the Canucks would take over second in the division tonight, but with Markstrom in it will be shaky, even if Vegas starts the WHL goalie

- Makita

Agree I commented on that a few blogs ago...Nilsson plays well enough to earn the next start, but we head right back to Marky.

And yes Green spent all that time with JV last year in Utica to get him prepped for this season and JV has looked pretty damn good...but isn't getting the TOI or games he needs. Burmi might need to go.

I do like the team better defensively this year, but the lack of top end talent is what's going to bring them back down to earth. I think they end up finishing around 5th or 6th last in the league.

Hard to be sure though. Injuries to the team or other teams can make a difference.

I like how the team plays and the players are deployed, very little issue with Green. Scoring depth will be the issue until the young guys are good enough to play here, one or two more years until that changes at least.

Players U20 point totals in the SHL currently.

EP with a whopping 12 point lead over his same age peers.

Someone(LE) needs to get injured tonight so JV can play again, or send him down to the AHL. He was playing better hockey than half the team and doesn't deserve this treament IMO.
- Retinalz

I didn't think he was playing particularly well but also not terrible. I think Gagner at this point is looking like the most useless forward but they aren't going to give up on that idea yet.

I don't see the downside of sending JV down at this point. Plenty of guys could sit of the pressbox who are in Utica now.

I'm still willing to LE a break as last year was a write-off, and he was injured right away this season. From what I've seen though he does a lot of little things right on 5 v 5 and the PK. He'll never be worth that contract, but that's JB's fault, not LE's.

My biggest beef this season is Edler. In the LA game the other night it really looked like he was skating in mud. Just so slow. Inaccurate passes and shots from the point that miss the net 90% of the time. Although not likely a TDL candidate until next season he would be the guy I would want JB to sit down to have the "talk" with, ala Jason Garrison.

PS... did you notice how he did the patented drop pass on every power play rush the other night? LAK players just started following him out of the d-zone. But he would still do it. Idiotic robot.

edit: sorry for replying to own post. I've flagged myself.

When Gillis passed on Carolinas offer of their top 10 pick for Edler a few years back I could not believe it...stuck with the guy for god knows how long.

Agree on Gagner. He hasn't found a fit yet. LE bouncing back bodes better to moving him in the off season.

Did you hear TG's interview on JV question.... he intends to play him and this is part of his development.

Too many weak scoring forwards. JB should make some trades. Montreal needs scoring.

When is Jake Virtanen going to dress again. I don't think his play was bad. Nowhere near 'bad'. I know Eriksson came off of IR but is he an improvement on Jake.

I heard the coach say he needs to learn a lesson. Is he being punished for something or just the odd man out?

Also, I am getting tired of Markstrom when Nilsson's numbers are so much better. I wonder what soft goal he will let in tonight.
