Give vancouver fans the calder in boeser and they will completely forget that we suck. Our fans are the worst lol
- Codes1087

no, it's more that our fan base can be easily persuaded to move from doom and gloom to sunshine and rainbows.

team still sucks but now they have "the best rookie in the league!" distract people by pointing at the bright, shiny object.

edit: yeah, our fans are the worst.

Hey....welcome home! And thanks. Ha, I said hes a third line center on a championship team, which hes proving is probably wrong as well. Turning into what looks like he could be a good second line center on a championship team.

You can't female dog about the "worst fan" when people on here are turning a potential calder win into something negative.

Pot meet kettle.

I bought a house in Scottsdale with .42 acre lot. Resort style back yard with multiple waterfalls in the pool. love it. well...bought as in I have an accepted offer. But the market is so different down there that I won't consider it done until closing on Dec 28th

Salo : "We are working with Olli on his play on his own end, he needs to improve on that for sure if he wants to be a regular NHL defenseman and he has been better in that area. ." #Canucks

if the team doesn't start a massive marketing campaign soon built around the young'ens especially bo and boeser, this team is more effed than we thought.

and, i agree, they should be building boeser's national profile through their PR department. he's getting noticed but the team should be pushing his name hard.

Maybe they should give Edler the same treatment.

I was thinking more along the lines of on-ice point production. If he gets the most points then you likely take the 'judging' out of the calder decision.

It will all start next summer when Bo gets the C and the sedins retire. No sarcasm in my post either. I think we see a big marketing campaign next year when the sedins retire. I imagine something along the lines of "new core has arrived" with bo, brock, Sven, pettersson all on the cover

i think it goes hand in hand. i think it's a conscious decision by the team (management and coach.)

obviously, increased pr doesn't help unless the on ice production is there.

Friend of mine did the same but in Florida. Gated, on golf course, ridiculous amenities, and practically paid nothing for it in comparison to Van prices.

i remember when they sent the vhs tapes of pavel around the league.

i know it's a different league and time but lobbying/pr campaigns still exist. just like award season in hollywood.

There has been absolutely no talk from the canucks about a potential twin retirement. That worries me because the last twin season would be a great marketing tool to boost slumping ticket sales. Farewell tour and all that...

So true, but the most points in a season helps negate any subjective influences.

Either way, I think seeing BB get a calder would be awesome and would give this season some legitimacy and it would show me that progress is being make towards creating a competitive team again.

Sedins have gone on record complainimg about the adjustment in ice time. I believe vanek as well i dont think they resign if they know they will travel as much as the canucks team does in a year, just to play 8 minutes a night. They dont need the money, and a championship isnt in the horizon in the sedins window of playing.

i don't think they'd want a farewell tour. they strike me as saying afterward not before that they're done.

i'm leaning - E4 levels of certainty - that they retire after this one.

It could be if the twins accepted certain 'concessions'.

Yup.
The PR campaign will start with a "rejuvenated Sedin twins looking to lead the young core to the playoffs..."

If they accept a 1 year offer, say 2 million each. It reallt doesnt make sense for them. They arent dumb, they see the losing just as we do. I really think they retire this summer, despite being physically capable of maybe going another year. They know their limitations, they are just too slow.
