I am hoping he can. I've always liked him. At least a number 7 type. Others would say he's a lesser Mark Alt (but I like Alt, too).
The guy who has really, really been struggling to make the adjustment to pro hockey so far has been Friedman. That surprised me because he was so good in camp. Just goes to show yet again that the regular season is a different level, even in the AHL. - bmeltzer
Have to wonder, as a smaller Dman, if he's having some difficulty adjusting to the physicality of the AHL game. |

injuries derailed alt imo. thought he would replace manning a few years back.
at least with friedman he has the skills. I believe. let him simmer in the ahl for 2/3 years. |

No, he means Mason. As in, for how long will Mason extend the Flyers goalless streak?

Although, it would be Flyeresque to have Mason pitch a 55 save shutout tonight,
I do hope for a rattled Mason that gives up a magic 8 ball though. |

On that front, I'm sure most of the Flyers know how to get inside his cranium. |

Despite the losses, they are still only 5 points out of 3rd place with 2 games in hand on the Penguins. Some other teams also have to catch up game-wise, but still not too bad. Hopefully they can score some goals tonight. - Ftown19125
On the win 1 lose 2 carousel we will be closer to another lotto pick then the playoffs by the time the ball drops in Times Square.

Similar to the way that Paul "Reggie" Newman did to that goalie in slapshot?

I can't see any reason not to bring Lindblom up and play him ahead of Weise at this point. He is probably better defensively than Weise and certainly more skilled. Yeah, Weise may be a better skater, but if you aren't actually accomplishing anything with your speed, than it's really not a factor. Sure the kid may make a mistake or 2, but I can live with that. They aren't a contender, I'd rather have him here, fine tuning his game on the job, than have to watch Weise basically accomplish nothing.
Having played a number of games against men in Sweden leads me to believe that at this point, now that he's had some time to adjust to the size of the NA rink, his development would be better served by playing at the NHL level. The thing he needs to adjust to is the speed of the NHL game and he isn't going to learn that playing in the AHL. - BiggE
Also having his best friend hagg with him would help his na adjustment

Yup, absolutely.
Sadly, at any moment a post will appear, admonishing us for having the unmitigated gall to suggest that a player be brought up. I mean we all know, KNOW, that if and when team management feels that a player is ready to be brought up, that is when it will happen. AND NOT A MOMENT BEFORE!!!!

Still sticking with the same lineup. I guess it's nice to know Hakstol isn't hitting the "panic " button yet. |

Just never happened. I'm not much of a movie guy now nor when I was growing up. My coworkers have fun with movie "top 100 whatever genre" lists. I've usually only seen 15-20% of the lists. |

In his defense, I'm not sure adding Matt Read and/or Mark Alt would be of much help.
Hopefully Patrick can come back, if not tonight, soon.

I don't know what the lineup is yet (it's noted that the lineups are from the teams' last game). Will change it if necessary after the beats who made the trip to Winnipeg report the morning skate combos. |

Well despite the movie setting Hockey back a few decades, as it penetrated peoples brains as they thought that's what the NHL was. It was a funny 70's movie that featured Hockey (violence) as the star.
For an hour n a half investment you will have some laughs.
Might even be worth sacrificing the first two periods of tonights game to watch Slap Shot, may be just as comical.
