Hawks 4. Devil's 1

How'd that end

Toews is the worst contract in the NHL. Zuccarello once again out battles 19 and it's 4-2.
- EnzoD

Yea noticed that? First he was too goddamn high in his zone, then lazily skates low and then Mats OWNS him again. Pathetic. I am beside myself with this guy. Something has to be OFF with him.

most overpaid, I agree. But I don't think it is Stan's worst contract, that would go to Seabrook because by the time that one was signed, Stan should have learned his lesson from 19's & 88's contracts.

This time score more goals, indeed.
They don't have to be pretty. Lundquist disgusted he allowed first two. Then Hayden converts on a juicy rebound. Just what he and the team needs.

It's a positive development when DeBrincat scores. You never know if he is going to miss time after a nasty check. DeBrincat very early in his career has not been practicing how to avoid getting nailed a la M. St Louis. What he did tonight which will endear him to Q way of thinking more than his lucky goal, is how he covered the point, wound up chasing down an icing shortly after he had scored.

A rookie 19 year old did that. Not wanting to sound negative,.....but another 19,..... #19 .....is going to be outshine by the rookie perhaps on a number of occassions this season.

Toews is not likely going to produce as many points in his new style. DeBrincat - whom I was crossing my fingers would be like a bonus offensive contributor this season, is here to stay and might just eclipse Toews in points and be his equal in smart defensive plays. DeBrincat has a ways to go to be the equal of Toews, defensively, but he is trying, willing, improving, and has a good feel for the game. Trending: DeBrincat; Treading water: Toews. At least until [if] Toews shows more.

Nice fighting for the puck and some determination! Love it

Going back to the core I also noticed the boo birds on Toews

...we don't need to move all the core; to me just Toews and Seabs need to go.

CC, Kaner do not need to go as they as still more than relevant even though Kane is having a hard patch right now.....and Keith although he's not as good as he once was his salary makes him palatable.

Imagine re-investing over 16 milllions !! Just think of it, plus the LTIR money from Hossa and that's just a $ dump, imagine if we even gets picks or players on top of that....we would be in a very good position.

Who in hell is gonna trade for them? Moving either is fantasy. NO TEAM is gonna want either. NO TEAM. We are stuck.

Gone next year: not Toews, right.
Gone next year: R Nash, a big forward not as soft as Toews.
Hmmm.
Nash contract is done. He will sign for less. He is, however, about age 33. So what. Rebuild could use him more than Toews. For two years on guaranteed deal.
Hmmm.
Just saying
Toews is not worth or doing what he once did. Fact
As Sargent Joe Friday would say, just the facts.

Still plenty of time to piss this one away. Typical playing with the lead lollygagging.

Bright spots though - AA has his “give a crap” on tonight, and once again, Franson demonstrating value beyond his salary.

Ya never know...don't know if you don't try....are they trying?
Like I said even if its a salary dump....
I think there is still a market for Toews somewhere like the peg or MTL?
Seabs would be harder and we would need to sweeten.

Murphy actually did a good job to get back and force a tough shot (and it's pretty well known I am not a Murphy fan). That goal was on Crawford. Terrible one to give up.

Beauty pass by 8 and 15 going to the net on all 3 for his hat trick! Toews is just pathetic. He falls down every shift and isn't even working hard defensively. Used to be my favorite player. Wtf happened to this guy???

Even Toews wasn't gonna miss that one...
