well his skating ability and offensive instincts...not hard to see why Housley would like him.

Maybe too much but not like hes working with too much on defence. No matter what someone will be seeing way too much ice time

We'll see if fans can be patient with the INTs. We've been spoiled with Tyrod. I think Peterman will also throw TDs, but he's probably gonna be more of a fitz gunslinger as a rookie than Favre.

For the record, I think tyrod has proven that he is an 8-8 QB, or a 6-10 qb in a bad year or a 10-6 Qb in a good year and they don't want to play that game. I agree if that's their thinking.

He's what, 22-22 as a starter?

I wouldn't say he chokes. Choking would be throwing inopportune INTs. He just doesn't elevate his game enough. He's had 2 comebacks in 2 and a half years. That's not great.

or maybe he suffers from a case of paralysis under the pressure of a big game or needing to carry the team on his back

Maybe, but his play doesn't seem to decline in those situations either. It just doesn't elevate.

Yeah, "good" seems to be his ceiling. He's rarely been great. To his credit, he's almost always good though, or at least competent

Really?

I’d wholeheartedly disagree.

He doesn’t turn it over, but he has way too many under 100 yard passing half’s.

He’s brutal for stretches

The worst I would say for him is that he doesn't win games by himself. But I also can't think of many where he lost us a game with a bonehead play. He's a fine QB, definitely starter caliber in a league that's starved for QBs, but he's not great by any stretch of the imagination. If we had kept him as starter, I bet 1 out of the next 4 years we'd make the playoffs

So, after 3 years starting in the NFL, projecting a 25% rate of qualifying as a playoff caliber QB is acceptable, or rather a fine QB?

I wholeheartedly disagree, that absolutely sucks. Furthermore, since we are projecting here, I would say that Tyrod has between 0 and no chance of leading this team to the playoffs.
He can’t pass accurately long, albeit that is his best passing skill, and he absolutely can’t hit a target over the middle in stride for additional YAC, which is critical...he often in off target and subjects his target to injury.

Time to move on. I don’t think Peterman is the answer, he seems like a Edwards clone...but what the hell, let’s see what we have in him to determine if the Bills need to draft multiple QBs or set their sights on one.

My point is just as much an indictment of the current state of NFL QBs as it is a compliment to Taylor. He's better than 25% of QBs in this league because there are a lot of bad ones.

I'm in favor of trying Peterman, though I have no idea if he's good or not. My point is simply that Taylor is an adequate, if uninspiring, QB in this league. I stand by my comment though. I think with a decent D and a couple deep threat receivers (which we don't have), Taylor can take a team to playoffs. Beane and McDermott want better than just a chance at the playoffs, though. They want sustained success, so they're trying something new. Kudos to them.

That doesn't mean he would be a playoff QB every year, but he could take a team to the playoffs

Constantly. Not running when he has a clear opening is boneheaded.

Checks down constantly. Boneheaded.

Overthrows receivers. Boneheaded.

Leads receivers into hits. Boneheaded.

The guy is a literal bonehead. He wants to be a pocket passer... HE ISN'T and there's nothing wrong with that. The only person who refuses to play to Tyrod Taylor's strengths is himself.

I meant turnovers, but point taken. All I'm saying is, I believe we had a competent starter who is slightly better than a .500 player. He's not a bum. I'm happy with the move to Peterman though

Well, I see him as being a Trent Dilfer type of QB — I.e. we have a dominat D and a top 5 running game...don’t F this up on us kinda of guy...that ain’t the Bills though as they are transitioning on the the fly rather quickly.

The Clown made a great observation right after the trade for Benjamin...the Bills have one of the most balanced O’s in the league, however the QB is the wrong guy to take advantage of it...it is a high possession type O requiring a QB to deliver the ball quickly, accurately and in stride for maximum efficiency...all of that goes against TT, who is best on the scramble finding the open receiver in a busted play...a classic misfit.

I wish him nothing but the best as he seems to be a quality person with high character...would like to see him succeed.

Idk. Tyrod Taylor isn't good, he is mediocre. Hence his 19-18 record as a starter.

We need better, unfortunately. Peterman, eh. It is what it is but we know what the team is with Tyrod: 9-7 at best and this season doesn't look to be a 9-7 season for us after the past 2 weeks with him as the QB.

He absolutely refuses to take chances, which means he's afraid to throw interceptions, which means he's afraid to play Quarterback. I'm sick of this "He plays safe" rhetoric. He doesn't play safe, he plays timid and scared.

This move away from TT makes me think Beane was looking for a trade partner but couldn’t find a suitor. I can’t believe they changed their collective minds based on last 2 games...as bad as they were. Based on that, it would be interesting to know what options if any were available.
