Keep him down. He needs to prove himself. I don’t know much but I do know that lehtera is proven. Weise is proven. And Martel is not proven.
And that’s all I need to know - Just5
Yes, they're proven. As is Michael Leighton. "Proven" does not mean "good" or even "adequate." Nick Schultz was "proven" and is now unemployed 6 months later. |

Do the flyers score tonight?
Does a defenseman pot one?
Does Sanheim get his first NHL goal?
Does someone other than the ginger line score?
Does Simmonds wake up?
Do the Flyers keep Zucker off of the scoresheet?

You don't think they could've found a spot for him to play with Patrick out? |

Such bullpoop they blew the play dead. The puck was in motion, Pronger was just assessing the play and waiting for a safe opportunity to break out. No rules were broken. |

For martel? I don't see him filling his role. Vecchione would of made sense though

I dont mean a direct replacement for Patrick himself, just saying I think there were games they could've fit him in the lineup had the felt like it and it wouldn't be in a "checking" role |

I do hate that good guy lehtera is being placed in the lineup cause of his contract. He's just not good. Wish they'd buy him out so I'm not subjected to him for another year. |

Certainly wouldn't be opposed to it. I am fine with him being the 13th or 14th forward (takes over for Matt Read) as well, but I don't see many places for him in the lineup for the rest of this season and the next |

If vecchione and lindblom make this team Weise is your 13th man. That's if we don't bring filp back on a lesser deal |

They are not going to buy him out unless they need cap space, which they don't. Better to have him in the press box or minors where they can use him if they need him and don't carry dead cap space for two years.
I know this doesn't fit the "lets get all the kids in now" movement, but it is the smart hockey move for the team. |

Not sure I am feeling good about TK with Lehtera and Filp... we will see though. - dragonoffrost
There will be no perfect solutions until Nolan Patrick returns. My honest opinion is, just keep the lines the way they were because Konecny, Filppula and Simmonds at minimum, producing or not, are a pretty good second line. |

The dead cap space won't matter too much because they have plenty of it. The roster spot is more important. He doesn't have a NMC, so they could just waive him if needed. It doesn't hurt to keep him around at all, but buying him out still saves the Flyers money and allows other players to fill roster spots.
I suspect they will keep him around, but I am fine with either move |

I hope we don't see Filp back. That was a good trade to unload Streit and get Filp for one year. We needed some steady depth at forward. They signed Veccs before they lucked into Patrick. We have an ass load of centers here, as shown by Weal playing center tonight. I don't want any more extensions for guys over 28 now. Let the kids ease in and lets see what we have. I can see three more rooks playing here before years end, if all works out. |

If they waive him he goes to LHV, unless someone wants to sit him in their press box in case of emergency. You still get some cap relief but he still has a contract. He may go at the draft or the deadline next year. Don't see much market for trading him though. Too much cap hit. Hexy has not shown much appetite for losing assets for nothing. If it comes to eating salary or keeping him, I think he stays. |

Most people did expect Schultz to keep playing into his forties like Jagr. Ended too soon.

The only real reason to keep him and Weise ad 13th 14th men is that we don't have a lot of nhl ready talent past vecchione and lindblom. Well until somebody steps up and we debate why they aren't in next year. |
