Lehtera really has disappointed me....how the hell did someone pay this guy almost 5 mil a year....holy (frank).

I have had an issue with a bunch of his decisions....but the bottom line is the team has regressed after the first 5 or so games when they seemed to skate a lot better. I'm really sick of blaming coaches but I can't say he's doing a great job when it's obvious he's not. Hopefully some things start to click, because this team has shown they can play a hell of a lot better then what they are bringing.....the inconsistency is maddening.

I don't think so. Even if he felt Martel could be in the NHL, he would need to come up with a reason why one of the guys on the team shouldn't be in the NHL.

Martels only real shot right now is if there was an injury (or injuries)

The perception of Martel needing a top 6 role to succeed is strong.

My only opinion, vis a vis Martel, is that he shouldn't be thought of like, say Jason Akeson was considered.

Akeson had skating issues and well, he was a slight physical player. Martel looks more solid, despite his stature, and seems to skate well.

Martel is still only 22. To me, he's a better prospect than Aube-Kubel.

Hakstol will be given this season, for sure, unless the team falls off a cliff.

Next year (year 4 of his 5 year contract) is when Hextall will start looking at him more critically.

Being a player under the guy must be frustrating, he favours vets who like I said dont contribute much to the team versus rookies who are surely in the future plans. I'm relating this back to last season as well here. If I was a player that would already rub me the wrong way. He never adjusts much within the game just continues to trot out the same lines usually and game plan. I just don't think he is that great of a coach and I never have liked his hire. I think a more experienced coach could get a lot more out of this line up

I hope Kirk Muller gets another shot. He had virtually nothing to work with in Carolina. I'm not advocating him as the Flyers next coach, just saying that he's one guy out there who I think should have a job and might be in line for one as firings commence.

I know he's won cups that's good enough for me haha , anything is better than Hakstol at this point the guy seems clueless. I'm not a fan never will be never have been.
