Really? I guess I don't see anything but highlights but usually on the game sheet he is listed as the center and most of the highlights have him taking the face-off. I don't see him being more then a good 3rd liner.
- manvanfan

He plays center this year, but played wing last year. He was the best player at the young stars tourney other than Pettersson. We'll see, but I like what I'm seeing as he's destroying in the NCAA right now against the top competition available. Here's a great article.

Sorry but Gadjovich shoots the puck at a high volume that means he's 1st line only. Unless he stops shooting the puck. Winning doesn't matter, shots matter. Get it right BROOKS!

Corsi wins hockey games. Just not when the Canucks win the corsi battle. I bet it works for Detroit though.
Sure. Maybe Gadjovich could help out Gagner if he's still around.

"He Corsi's, he scores!!!"

I hope Sutter, Gagner, Dorsett are long gone when Gad, EP, Lind draw in.

Corsi is a lot like drafting, if you're good at it, it improves your chances of winning. Nothing insures victory, that's what makes sports worth watching. Making fun of things you don't understand... are you a Trump supporter

You mean the development camp? Neither Gaudette (NCAA not eligible) nor Pettersson (playing for his SHL club team) were at the YoungStars tournament.

To be fair, Stamkos was drafted nine years ago, not ten. Secondly, they went to the finals three years ago, so six years really, they just kept drafting well when the opportunity presented itself.

Rebuilding takes awhile, it is what it is

Analytics arent something that are easily understandable without a considerable amount of time reading. I only recent got into them in the past year. I find the people who dont like them compare them like new age cars and old school mechanics. Old mechanics hate all the computer and electrical stuff of new cars cause its not something you can fix or understand with a wrench. Analytics are the same, old school fans just dont seem to want to open up about it, which is fine, its not for everyone.

Analytics are nothing more than a supportive performance metric and hold no more value than seeing eye tests or regular statistics imo. I just think while the data is readily available, its ignorant for a franchise not to use it. By all means, teams who just use it are no better off than teams that dont use it at all.

It's a tool which can factor into several other things. Arizona's GM lives for it, lets see how that plays out.

I think it's great if a franchise uses it. I just don't want them to use them as their primary source of analysis.

When you go and scout a player, more so than when you go and scout a game you really get a good grasp of what is going on.

When you go to a game and your primary purpose is entertainment you tend to follow the puck, whereas much of the game is played away from it. I think that's where analytics factor in for the casual fan or even the fan who's primary purpose is to follow the puck.

You are going to learn so much more by watching a player game in and game out objectively than you are by reading a comparehensive stat sheet however.

You are exactly right. Boys in florida are heavily into it as well. Its nothing more than a tool that helps you see stats that are hard to remember or write down during a game. Analytics dont solely bring teams championships. Good drafting, good coaching, good roster, good organizations do.

I don't make fun of things I don't understand. If I didn't understand, i'd learn about them and ask questions to learn and understand.
