If what you're implying is the Jets don't need scoring depth, I'm inclined to agree.
- neem55

Pierre LeBrun of The Athletic thinking though, as he tweeted out his expectations for the next few months.

Jets lots of depth up front. Other teams looking for help at forward will come calling ahead of Feb. 26 trade deadline.

What seems ironic here is that his team isn't scoring, but he doesn't think they need to get more shots on net to score. Are there other ways of scoring other than shooting that I don't know about?

This team needs a Wayne Simmonds.

Russia is up 2-1 in games so far.

Burmistrov, gagner and gudbranson to wpg? That would net the canucks a pretty good haul because I've been hearing that the jets need help up front and right side d.

I think if you are winning while your PP is failing that hard, you are a scary, scary team.
- neem55

Agreed. Its only a matter a time before they figure it out, only need to be middle of the pack and they'll be atop the standings like they were for a large portion of last season

Gudbranson.
- A_SteamingLombardi

Yeah, maybe he's trying to score from his own end every time just dumps it out of the zone and lets the other team maintain possession... Maybe, Gudbranson is actually the most sophisticated hockey player we have ever seen!

1) it's never happening

2) how do you know both teams would benefit? You're just assuming he'll fix the PP and that CBJ is willing to give the Canucks a decent pick/prospect.

3) If CBJ is all about winning now they'll aim higher than Gagner.

4) Again, how do you know his contract will end up being good value?

5) CBJ is a young team, you're acting like they're sctrictly in a win-now mode

6) it's never happening

Thanks, I wasn't feeling like going through the list

I saw that Lebrun tweet earlier and was thinking the only thing the Canucks could realistically offer them is a goalie. The best D assets VAN has are RD and the Jets are already stacked in that position

Yzerman reported to be watching the last 2 Jets games. According to a friend, TB has interest in Trouba.

Trouba clearly wants to play elsewhere, I think Canucks should be all in on him and move Tanev+ if they can convince Trouba to sign here long-term.

Haven't they been trying to improve the PP since 2012?

It'll be interesting how the Jets handle their season. They have had a good start and if they can solidify in net they could make a good run for the playoffs. It doesn't seem like the best time to trade Trouba, especially since I can't see what Tampa could offer that addresses their weaknesses

He has no clauses but also according to my friend, he wants to go somewhere warm.

Its the hallmark of a Torts team. He generally has a below league average power play

Might just be futures, that WPG could use to address their own weakness.

Yeah, I think any deal would hinge on some assurance he signs long-term, similar to Drouin.

If they can keep injuries low and have good goaltending I can't see why not.

True, they could look at 3-way deal or accumulate picks to be used at TDL. I just can't see them taking a step back, they've been primed to take a step forward for years it feels like

Only 20, he's all gassed up on them. Kind of ironic to bet against las vegas, but hey it looks like low-hanging fruit to me.
