Yes they are.
Being tall is great and all but there is always that life expectancy thing. Ever see a tall old man?

If you only followed my posts more thoroughly, what a piece of work that guy is. I’m surprised Nucker101 didn’t tell him to F off, doesn’t he understand no one follows his lunacy. |

Good confirmation though if you followed my posting better you'd know Gaudette's NCAA season doesn't end early enough to be papered into AHL by Canucks. He won't do a PTO for Comets. That loses the advantage of burning a year off his ELC for staying in college another year to develop. But he'll get a BB look to prove what he has and make the off season decisions more palatable. - Nuck4U
While I agree that what you predict will happen, I do not share your confidence in that its a done deal. I think there is still some thought and negotiation to be had
The big difference I see between Boeser and Gaudette is that Boeser, given his draft status was always going to get the maximum ELC and max performance bonuses. Gaudette being a 5th round pick won't be guaranteed the top bonus package, so the Canucks have some leverage with him, particularly if both feel he needs a season's worth of AHL time. It will come down to the gamble on whether he can crack the lineup and set himself up for a good 2nd contract by burning a year or guarantee himself some bonuses in the extra season
Some insight on ELC bonuses that I thought was interesting: https://www.pensionplanpu...ng-you-need-to-know-about |

Sure there is some detail room to be finalized and bonuses cover it. Did you notice JB gave Molino the top contract salary rate to entice to sign. |

Before the Flames hit the draft floor, team executives and scouts get in a room so they can argue, curse, yell and eventually settle on a draft list. That list is always arranged according to who is the best player, regardless of position. That list is final.
“I tell our scouts this: ‘If you want to get fired, argue on the floor. Argue on the floor that day,’” Burke told the audience. “Goddamnit, you argue about that list on the floor, you’re getting canned.
“If the top name on that list is a defenceman, we’re taking a goddamn defenceman. Doesn’t matter if we’ve got positional depth there. You adjust your depth chart by trades.”
Burke is such a 'Richard' but he tells it like he thinks it, no middle ground with him |
