To me theres no way they dump all the money they have into northwell and other things if they thought there was a chance to leave. Otherwise they wait till they win to build or just move and leave it as is/was - Upstate_isles
Mark my words. In 5 years there will be no more Islanders. In their place will be the Saskatoon Sasquatches. |

I'm still at like 60/40 he doesn't stay. We shall see if the team starts playing better and we get the RFP it all comes together if not he's gone. |

I’m with you Cpt.
If JT wasn’t or doesn’t have any inclination to leave, then imho he would have signed already. The fact is he hasn’t even negotiated to this point so why not?
I’m 50/50 at this point and the Arena issue and JT having confidence he can win or have a great chance to win a Cup with the Islanders going forward has to be answered before he’s going to sign the next 8 years of his career and perhaps his last 8 years of his career.
Again I think he wants to stay however stability and success is a big part of his decision, and why shouldn’t it be? Think of the Shat show he has experienced since he’s been drafted on to the team. |

Come on man. First you say you think he'll sign even if the team sucks it up this season just as long as the RFP happens. Do you honestly believe that? I don't believe he signs if we suck even if the RFP goes through and I'm fairly certain you agree you just don't want to admit it. You're too smart a guy to believe this I think you're just saying that due to not wanting to be wrong about the whole thing .
Now you're saying, "Well JT doesn't know any better that this is a (frank)ing gong show of an orginization because he's only played here" like Snow puts him in a cage and takes his internet access and brain away after each game and unlocks it in the morning for practice |

The guy has said all he wants to do is win since the day we drafted him why wouldn't anyone believe him? Recently he said the same thing. No I'm going to believe what (frank)ing BD Gallof says he's proven to be reliable over the years
We need the RFP to happen and we also need the team to do well if that doesn't happen he's gone anyone who thinks otherwise is fooling themselves into some false sense of idiotic positivity to try and cope with this whole thing If one of those things doesn't happen he's gone. Period |

That’s true , JT has only played for the Islanders and he has no idea what the other teams are all about NOT.
Now the Islanders since L and M took over have done a lot adding a Family room at BC and a Wife and Girlfriend suite to watch the games and even a full time chef cooking meals for the team, and yes new practice facility. However when the players vote on what team they would like to play on The Islanders don’t come in the top 3 but rather the bottom 3 so I think you need to re think what JT or any other player in the league know about the upper echelon teams and how they treat their players. |

Well you two jokers I was being facetious hence the .......just saying. Of course he knows about other teams and talks to players all over the league at events like the all star game. I'm sure his agent has informed him as well being that's his job. I think he will resign based on the fact that he's an extremely loyal guy and has been kept I the loop on all things the organization is doing. Could I be wrong? Absolutely but that's what I think will happen and if he walks you guys can tell me I was wrong and I will admit it. - Upstate_isles

I think the orginization can tell him they're doing x,y, and z but at this point JT will need to see x,y,z. Keeping him in the loop does nothing to help at this point IMO . This team looks once again mired in mediocrity which isn't overly shocking. I doubt that helps Tavares sign a contract with us. If I'm Tavares and his agent I need results not Snow promising bullshat and keeping him in some kind of loop. Promises of 7 year rebuilds blah blah blah. Lets face it, Snow hasn't delivered on just about anything he said he was going to do since he took over. Not one (frank)ing thing in 11 years.
I'll bet just about everything I have this is exactly what Tavares and his agent need and I'll bet you just as much Snow doesn't deliver number 1 due to his ego and number 2 due to his complete, utter incompetence. Chances are this goes down to the wire which can potentially sink this team. It should have never been allowed to get to that point to begin with and it being in the hands of one of the most inept people to manage this team is just a bit unnerving. Oh, and by the way. The world will come to an end soon after. |

JT is definitely signing. for started he did Snow a major favor taken a bridge deal at lower money than he worth. So he going to cash in.
what is he worried about being stuck? cant he just ask to be traded if we dont win a cup. its not like when you sign you can go anywhere.
im more worried that given JT 10-11MM a year will put us in Edmonton situation.
Too much money on two guys and not enough depth. |

He can cash in with any team albeit with one year less. There's ways to make up the difference and believe me teams will do what it takes to accommodate him if he makes himself available. Him giving snow a break with his first contract doesn't factor into this in any way. |

Let's just start with the first sentence. If he was "definitely signing", he would have already signed. He's going to cash in no matter where he goes. It doesn't matter that he already did Snow a favor. That actually makes it worse. He gave the Isles back money to improve the team and Snow didn't do anything with it
If he doesn't feel that the roster has a chance to win a cup, or at least make a serious run at it, why would he re-sign here? Look at it this way. Let's say you worked for a company that wasn't successful. You have an opportunity to either re-sign with that company, which doesn't appear to be serious about being successful, or go to work somewhere else. What would you do? JT is going to make $10-$12m per where ever he lands.
Nobody here wants JT to go somewhere else. The reality is is that it's an absolute reality. To make it worse, Snow is in charge of how it goes down. Don't be surprised when JT walks as a UFA because Snow mishandled the entire situation. |

100%
If he does walk prepare yourself for the excuses. I'm honestly intrigued by what he'll come up with and how many stupid Islander fans will lap it up and take it as gospel. They will be the only idiots left watching this team.
Again, I'm not saying he's 100% gone. What I am saying is to me at this point there's a better chance of him leaving than staying from all we have to go on. How anyone could think otherwise is beyond me. His loyalty is a factor of course but with this most likely being his last contract loyalty is a much less significant factor than most people realize. |

I think the only positive that would come of that would be Snow finally getting fired. I don't think even these idiot owners would allow Snow to get away with letting JT walk for nothing. |

Do you know how many times both myself and every other Islander fan has said this same exact thing? Somehow he's still here after 11 years of at best mediocrity and empty promises that he never delivers on. I can't wrap my head around the fact that both him and his buddies all still have jobs. It is mind boggling. Any other team would have fired him 5 times by now. |
