Probably has more to do with who he's playing with. The kid's been Sven Baertschied for the last year.

Has to do with his talent, and the fact that he earned it. Bennett never did.

Sixth season, always told he would be a mistake. No sir.

Janko with the No. 1 star. Anyone miss Tanner Glass ?
- tincup

No shiet! He was last years Grossman. I’m glad the higher ups at least finally now realize Janko is the perfect 3c for this team, for now.

Ha, you say he didn't earn it now? You haven't shut up about how he should be on the right side of the top line! How did he earn that, but not to have quality wingers? I'm not saying that being on the wing hasn't made things easier for him, but how about the fact he finally has quality line mates, and he's had 4-5 games to build some chemistry? You think maybe that had something to do with it?

If it was from Chuck falling on him, it didn't look too serious. Probably precautionary.
- dr_soiledpants

Let’s hope! Just no totally sure I’d have a ton of confidence with lack being the starter, even if it was only for a few games.

Yup, hopefully he can keep it going, the Flames need a reasonably priced centre if they decide to re-up Backs.

Not sure what you are blabbering about, but I have been on record for close to 3 yrs that Janko should be 3C. And almost 2 that Bennett needed to shift.

Edit: I never once said Bennett ahould be on the right, just that he should shift.

I feel like for the most part, they have always had the right mix of guys, but now they have finally found some really good combinations on the bottom 6. I LOVE the third line, and Lazar looks good centering Steeger and Brouwer, they seems to have some good chemistry out there. Might be the end of the Stajan era. He was a good soldier, but in all reality, don’t let the door hit ya on the way out.

Benny on the wing and Janko as 3c might be looking like the best decision of the year so far!

Agreed. Janko is the perfect 3C. Jagr was a boon, but yea, Bennett on his wing is the balance Cup contenders need. If they send him down again for a scrub....they better not.

If Bennett can keep the monkey off his back, and get some points consistently, then (frank) yeah, we should have some good quality depth scoring moving forward

Statement game if I've ever seen one. We dismantled the best team in the Conference.

Our depth scoring's here, and we're starting to look like an elite team. Just need to shore up a bit more on defense and watch out.

Also, Janko's one Hell of a player. I'm glad we were patient with him. That entire line is deadly right now, along with the G-M-F and 3M lines. Even our 4th line got a goal tonight and Lazar has looked good centreing Versteeg and Brouwer. Even Brouwer's been decent.

If things keep going like this, we're going to make some serious noise this year.

Time to give Jankowski some PK time. Brouwer \ Bennett aren't getting it done. Backlund \ Frolik followed by Jankowski \ Bennett would be less disruptive and probably more effective. It also allows for the first line to take back the momentum after the kill, something that is not available if Monahan is used.

I don’t care if they play Bennett on D as long as he’s productive and the Flames are winning!

Not going to get into a a useless arguement but 2 years ago 19 year old Sam Bennett was just starting his first full year after a great playoff performance.

There was absolutely no reason to not give the kid a chance to perform at center. I think the Flames stunted his development by not making him learn the game in the A.
