Well that finally concludes the horrendous schedule the Pens have had to endure to start the season. They have played the most games (19-tied), the most road games (13) and amazingly the fewest home games (6-tied).
They are near the top in the standings and things should settle down from here. They will be the team waiting at home while other team travels in after playing the previous night. They should get some quality practice time. Jarry and Sheahan will be able to get some chemistry with their new teammates.
All in all I like how they finished this stretch. Very few injuries (knock on wood), third place in the division and seemed to have corrected the back up goalie situation. I may be mistaken but I also believe they have played very few non-playoff teams so far. |

Its all about The U - Feds91Stammer
I committed seppuku via alcohol last night. I haven't felt that level of despair since the 2012 curb stomping from Alabama. I hate Notre Dame and I'm tired of allowing ND football to domestically abuse my heart and soul on a year to year basis. |

I feel your pain. I get to watch Michigan choke against Ohio state every year. |

It's funny, not that I'm looking for some comforting excuse for the Pens, but I never really gave much thought to had bad the Pens' schedule as been to start the season. I still think there are plenty of issues to go around, but that definitely could be a contributing factor.

I'm glad the Pens got a point last night. Love when Malkin gets mad and bears down. |

I agree that Tampa is a very solid team this season to date, but their schedule was pretty (frank)ing soft compared to ours. It's as if certain teams are handed different assignments??? Still, Tampa managed to fall apart against the Rags (when the Rags were still at their vulnerable stage), which should have been a win for them. It's going to be interesting how Tampa go through their next 10 or so games against Metro & Atlantic teams. |

Shocked at the thought, but if all the other Metro teams played a few more games to catch our number, we could be running last!
In saying that, this division is so close that shouldn't be an issue if we can put few wins together. |

Well put. It has sucked for having played the most games over the past few seasons and then getting a heavily front loaded schedule. This is going to work out in their favor in the long run though.
That being said, this isn't a roster that is going to do any damage in the post season. They are going to need some more depth.

As an 18 year old Klim Kostin has 8 points in 13 games in the AHL. Sprong and Kostin could have been some solid depth reinforcements at the RW behind Kessel, Horny, Guentzel, plus G's ability to play both wings, Coulda been set with Kessel, Horny, Sprong, Kostin down the right side, and Guentzel, Sheary, Rust, Hags down the left side.

Preaching to the choir! Sprong will be up but yeah, when draft day came around and Kostin was on the board and the Pens traded that for Reaves I lost it. I would have been fine with Reaves for Sundquist but it made no sense trading down when a high end prospect was available.
