I read ESPN like I read most main stream news sites. Look for topics that seem to be a story then go read about it somewhere else |

All joking aside, I saw where they pilfered Whyshynski from PuckDaddy awhile back.
That was kind of a head scratcher. Like.. you fired basically everyone not named barry melrose from your hockey dept. and now you're deciding maybe that was a mistake?

You need to do a lot more research on the Flyers prospects. The Flyers also have 10 picks in the next draft including 2 first round picks.

http://bleacherreport.com...ools-after-the-2017-draft
http://www.nbcsports.com/...yers-farm-system-no-1-nhl - MJL
Most of the prospects enlisted in those articles are either Defenders, LW, or C. Only RW mentioned is Wade Allison and it seems like he needs to take quite some strides in development before he even sees any time if the NHL.
I may be wrong, but this seems to be the case at hand, so it seems that my initial comment of a lack of solid/stellar RW prospect depth (whether we state it as elite or many) still stands if we are looking at prospects alone, and that you guys have the one of the best defensive (defenders) prospect depth in the entire league. I do apologize for stating offensive as a generic term in the first phrase, I could see why you would have an avenue of misinterpretation with that regard.
However, I didn't know that you guys had that many picks. Damn.

Yes, it's deep, and yes, it's deep for defense. I will say that doesn't preclude trading up, especially with the assets the Flyers have and a pool that might need quality over quantity given 50-contract limit/only so many AHL spots/etc. Flyers pretty much only draft CHL kids too up high, which often starts the clock sooner. If you target a player or two, go for a trade up, always. A deep draft based on consensus doesn't mean you don't have favorites. It's a very good draft to have 2 1sts though, but trading up with one several spots (not 10) sounds good depending.
But I don't believe you've actually seen Zadina. You're lying to me, to all of us, and it hurts bad. So bad. For real doe: given he seems like a top 5 pick right now, I don't think it's too realistic. I haven't seen much of him myself yet though, so I'll get better acquainted at some point to determine where I stand on him exactly. - Mononoke
This, all of this. Except I don't know who the heck these guys are. I usually don't research players until I know the range of where we're picking. But the point about were starting to get to a quality over quantity point in our organization has been my point nobody wanted to acknowledge for the last month. |

Just a question. Say we hadn't traded Ebs for Strome.
Would Ebs + 2nd be enticing enough for Simmonds?
You guys might argue for a 1st but this upcoming draft is looking to be a deep one.
You guys need some solid prospect depth, especially down the right side. The pick could land you a good RW prospect.
Plus Ebs is 3 years younger and he has more offensive prowess than Simmonds. - EdmHockeyMan
Makes zero sense. On both teams. You spent all that money on lucic to play that type of role Simmonds does here. Ebs is more expensive and a worse player. Simmonds is also the heart of this team on most nights. So no. Just no. |

You do also realize we have several players playing their off wing because of our lack of organizational left wings. Lindblom might be our first true blue left wing we've had in years. |

Take Lucic then.
Regardless, I guess it would seem to be no deal, which I understand based upon your point of view on Simmonds. Just a beast of a player. Type of guy you hate to play against but would absolutely love to have on your team. Hard to give that away unless it's for a big overpayment. |

I have watched Zadina once but I like him a lot. He does have 30 points in 20 games for the Mooseheads. 16 goals 14 assists. |

Just watched a few highlights kid looks really good. But than saw the furthest any analyst has him being taken is 7th overall. Unless we get some lottery luck again don't see that happening. We do have half the Czech national team already so he would probably feel right at home. |

Simmonds could net a high pick in a trade. Zadina is listed as a LW tho. If we're trading Simmonds I would definitely prefer a natural RW coming back |

Brandon Manning is alright in my book. http://www.philly.com/phi...er-at-heart-20171110.html - scorachek
Agreed.
I'm not sure if he fits in the top 6 on this team going forward, but it's obvious that he plays with a lot of heart.
poop, it's obvious Hakstol and the organization likes the ManDog. I thought it was cool that Manning was trying to raise money for burn victims, given his background. |
