The traded for Saad in hopes of reuniting his with Toews and finding chemistry there. I think their defense is an issue now. - MJL
I haven't seen enough of their games to give an opinion but just based on stats they have only given up 39 goals but also only scored 44. seems like scoring is an issue |

I went to last night's Flyers game. We got there early, stopped at the shrine outside CBP. It was moving. - Doc_Sarcasm
Good choice. I've seen pictures.
They did a moment of silence too, and no idiot yelled go flyers, which tells you the impact it had |

Just a question. Say we hadn't traded Ebs for Strome.
Would Ebs + 2nd be enticing enough for Simmonds?
You guys might argue for a 1st but this upcoming draft is looking to be a deep one.
You guys need some solid prospect depth, especially down the right side. The pick could land you a good RW prospect.
Plus Ebs is 3 years younger and he has more offensive prowess than Simmonds. - EdmHockeyMan
If I'm trading Simmonds I'm looking for either a higher pick or a better and cheaper player that can be controlled through prime years. Eberle's contract ends at the same time as Simmonds' and is more expensive to boot. After next season we'd be exactly where we'd be with Simmonds. Would be a no from me.
Matter of fact, the Eberle for Strome deal is probably closer to what most fans, including myself, would want in return for Simmonds. |

Eberle is not a better player than Simmonds is. Flyers have one of the best and deepest prospects stables in the the NHL

Crawford. In both games against the Flyers they've bled quality scoring chances against.

no, but a couple idiots couldnt wait til the moment ended before yelling "We love you doc!"
also (speaking of idiots), I missed the Giroux's goal because a group of jackwagons strolled in late, marched past us in the row in front of us and slightly to the left, and proceeded to argue over who had what seat, while the Flyers were busy setting up that goal. One of them was a dead ringer for pharma-bro Martin Shkreli. I was somewhat perturbed. |

oh, it gets better. He had the nerve to be wearing a Giroux winter classic jersey.
I thought that you might have disapproved had you been there.

Defensively, yes. Offensively, especially RW wise, not really. |

Which is why I mentioned that we would have to throw in a high pick (add to the deal). |

So a first instead of a second?
Or still a no?
I would still do the deal if it were a 1st+Ebs.
We would win short term, but long-term, you guys would probably close the gap, or win the deal by an edge.

Like I said I can't argue one way or another because I am strictly going by stats but he does have a 1.87/.942 in 14 games played opposed to Forsberg's 4.26/.895 in 3 games. gave up 0 goals 2 times, 1 five times, 2 three times, 3 two times and 4 twice. so 10 games of 2 or less goals and 4 games of 3 or more. seems pretty solid to me. but like I said I haven't seen them play much outside of the 2 flyers games |

That's my point. Crawford has a lot to do with their team GA.
