I would be ok with either.
Plus next year they could lose/expect them to lose Filppula so you could have a group down the middle of Couturier/Patrick/Galchenyuk or Bennett.
But again any trade will probably be based on potential so even though value is low it still might cost more then assumed. I kept thinking Galchenyuk because it has been written and talked about in news that Montreal wants a vet top 4 and i think the Flyers could move a guy like Gudas in a deal like that. - J35Bacher
Move Gudas and call up Sam?
I like the thinking especially since Gudas seems to have fallen to third pair. So you could put Sam and Travis together and shelter them. Roll Provy/Hagg and Ghost/Amac or Ghost/Manning then play Sam/Travis 8-10 a game. |

No Nolan Patrick in practice with the #Flyers today. Hextall left the door open to him going on the trip, but I can’t imagine that seeing as how he hasn’t been doing anything but skating on his own." |

Provorov talks about how doughty played 35 minutes the other night. And he said that's what he strives to be 35 minutes is "heaven" |

I know everyone keeps talking about galchenyuck but Sam bennet name has recently been thrown out there and he's someone I personally would rather have. What do you guys think? His trade value seems to be relatively low right now as well. Could we get him and have him play 3c until nolan is back than move him to wing ? Could we move filpula to wing and place bennet in 3c and nolan 2c? - Tfaehner
If I had to choose between the two of them, I would go with Galchenyuk because he’s more of a offensive talent than Bennett is. He’s also a shooter – he’s a 30 goal scorer at the NHL. I think he could figure into a top 6 LW who can play next to Patrick. You could put Konecny on the right side of that line, and it would be a really good 1B line by next season.
In general, if we make a trade for a youngster, I want him to be a gun. I want that player coming in to be a highly skilled, no questions asked, elite offensive player that can play with Patrick for the next 4-6 years. That’s not to say Bennett won’t be a better player than Galchenyuk, or can’t be that player. But, at this point in their careers, I would say that Galchenyuk has proven he can generate offense at the NHL level.

they did a good job year after year moving out higher priced players and bringing in young players who produced but now Kane and Toews are not producing so that is killer. Not sure why anyone would blame Crawford. he has been good. Have to wonder if they regret Panarin for Saad not that Panarin is lighting it up (12 points to Saad's 9) but the chemistry between Panarin and Kane was there. All in all, (frank) em....they won 3 cups. - nastyflyergirl
The traded for Saad in hopes of reuniting his with Toews and finding chemistry there. I think their defense is an issue now.

What is his trade value being relatively low right now based on? With Nolan and the center prospect depth the Flyers have right now, why exactly should they be trading for a center? Seems like more of fantasy hockey here.

While, yes their D is an issue, the whole team is one lit match away from a tire fire.
They have 26% of their cap currently made spent on two players on the wrong side of 30. Toews needs to produce, or they are done.

The depth at center seems a little time away. Guys like Rubstov and Frost seem to still be about maybe 3-5 years away. Vorobryov could be a sleeper.
I like Galchenyuk for a top 9 winger you could pair with Patrick.
For me, just my views, i think Gudas could be a movable asset based on the direction of the Flyers. That's just my view. |

I don't see the Flyers making any big in-season trades. If they're in the playoff mix and depending on team health, they could certainly make a deadline deal, but it won't be a blockbuster. Regarding the talk, Galchenyuk doesn't excite me at all but I do like Bennett despite his horrendous start. If CLG thinks he needs a change of scenery, I would listen. |

1 point in 15 games being demoted in the lineup and all the reports of Calgary shopping him ?
It is fantasy hockey. But at the end of the day we need to continue to get young controllable players. Are we going to continue to wait and say oh we will be good eventually or make some moves which could speed up the timeline. I'm not talking about any one player in particular just that these are trades we will be making in the future. Especially with our prospect pool getting increasingly crowded. I also think it makes sense that we trade up this year in the draft with our abundance of picks. Think it's time for some greater quality prospects to our quantity of prospects. |

Right now the Flyers just need to stay the course.

Yeah that was really only reason I threw his name out there. I like his game more than galchenyuck. To each their own though. |

I have no idea, and I don't really want to trade for Galchenyuk. Just saying if I had to choose from him or Bennett, I would choose Galchenyuk for those reasons.
I would like to see the Flyers sit still for the rest of the this season at least, and see what they have in their defensive prospects. The can then evaluate the roster in the summer when they know what they have in guys like Sanheim, Haag and Morin (provided he comes up at some point this season).

You don't know what the asking price is. You're barking up the wrong tree searching for instant gratification and losing patience. What you're suggesting the Flyers do is the exact opposite of what they should do. The Flyers right now even with injuries sit 2 points out of a playoff spot. Trading up in the draft is a different story. Greater quality of prospects? Flyers have one of the top prospect bases in the NHL. |

You see I guess this is where I differ. Let's say youth movement hits a peak next year and we look like...
G coots jake
Lindblom nolan Simmonds
Weal vorobyov tk
Leier Laughton vecchione
Provy hagg
Morin gost
Sanheim macdonald/gudas
That's not a cup contender offensively is it ? Probably not. So where are we getting the youth forwards that will put us over the top? Probably a trade. Either up in the draft or with another team. Just saying |

Not saying these trades need to happen today. Just in the future we will move prospects or picks foe controllable players not aging vets. I do think at some point you have to take risks to get you over the top. And moving up in the draft I've been saying for months. Flip filp for a late first or 2nd rounder and than push 3 together to get a top 10 pick 😁 |

Talking about Bennet and Galchenyuk is talking about now. The Flyers are no where near the risk taking period. |
