Agree.
It was just a thought since they want a top 4 dman and Gudas would probably be one of the easiest to move based on the direction of the Flyers compared to other teams. - J35Bacher
in theory, not so sure the gm thinks that. Gudas is underrated imo. |

From BiggE
“I can't see them as legit Cup contenders yet, especially with an Elliott/Neuvirth tandem in goal. I'm just hoping that Patrick gets healthy soon and Lindblom continues to play well at LHV and by mid season we see:
G-Coots-Jake
TK-Filppula-Simmonds
Lindblom-Patrick-Weal
Leier-Laughton-Raffl
in the Cote suite: Weise and Lehtera
in LHV: Read”

I'm a big fan of underlined and italicized posts. But strikethrough is best.
That said, I think they have the ability to ice a top-6 of homegrown (Myers was not drafted) players. Nothing guaranteed with Morin/Myers/etc, but having 2 pan out as legit top-6 players seems favorable. - jmatchett383

Watched last night's game with Tangentman. He said he misses and loves you all.
Yeah, right. What he really said was to tell all you morons to go (frank) yourselves.
Great game last night!! - BiggE

When Weise passed that puck on that 2 on 1 in prime shooting position....that was neat
The middle 6 right now is about as bad as it gets with the 1st and 4th lines about as good as it gets - Just5

The Good.....28/14/93. Man they are just so good together. Elliott...really good to see. Hopefully he gets on a hot streak. Only giving up 1 goal to the Hawks including a 2 man disadvantage. yes its not the same Hawks team but they still have skill. I really like Hagg. Laughton/Leier PK tandem.
The negative. they really need to get more scoring from other lines. Yes I know Filppula and Simmonds each have 6 but Simmonds had most of those over a few games. the top line has 23 of their 50 goals.....46%. I really dislike the Weal-Lehtera-Weiss line. I know one of Lehtera/Weiss will be out once Patrick is back but still. - nastyflyergirl

I have heard this multiple times.. Why are the odds against the Flyers d-men panning out.
By my count, right now we have 4 up. They all look great so far. We still have Morin on the cusp.. odds are with him.
Myers playing down in LHV has had a heck of a start to his pro career. Odds are not against him.
Theres 6 right there.
Then there are a handful of other guys still developing. If statistics are what we are going by... at least one of those guys will make it to the NHL.
So why do people keep on insisting that the odds are against us? - jak521
i'm with you. i think they're all going to pan out. i just do. lots of indicators that point in this direction.

If Carolina can get a top 6 of all homegrown defenders then so can the Flyers. - J35Bacher
We almost had it when Gudas went down.

History has nothing to do with now.
Right now we have 4 currently on the roster. One that will be, and some may argue should have been since game one this year (Morin). Then you have Myers who is having a fantastic start to his pro career, and many pundits thinking he could be the second best of the bunch.
Statistics like that dont measure variables.
So looking at what the Flyers have TODAY.. do you still honestly think the odds are stacked against us seeing two more of the 7 defensive prospects currently not playing in the NHL landing an NHL job in the future? - jak521
Saying that the odds are against it is not the same as saying it's not possible. However none of the remaining prospects are a guarantee TODAY
although Morin is a pretty sure bet. Read my post. If they all become viable NHL defenseman than the Flyers have some valuable players and a surplus at a position which they can use as trade chips to shore up an areas of weakness. To sum up, if they all develop into NHL defenseman, what a great problem to have. |

Time for Bowman to realize he's made a MESS!
Hope that some of these guys will waive the NTC.
Trade 50 while his value is high. Only way to get rid os SEABISCUT contract.
Call NYI:
Leddy
Ladd
Ho Sang
Griess
Crawford
SEABISCUT
Panik
Waive sharp & bring up Hino.
Something along those lines needs to happen or these NTC are going to have this team in the basement soon.
The NTC are the killer!
Stan thinks these 3 will turn season around.

they did a good job year after year moving out higher priced players and bringing in young players who produced but now Kane and Toews are not producing so that is killer. Not sure why anyone would blame Crawford. he has been good. Have to wonder if they regret Panarin for Saad not that Panarin is lighting it up (12 points to Saad's 9) but the chemistry between Panarin and Kane was there. All in all, (frank) em....they won 3 cups. |

Oh it's just fun to watch the fans lose their collective poop because they've become entitled brats. Can't wait for the western PA team to face the same. |

Five points in the last three games is much better than three points in the previous five games. The Flyers look like they've stabilized with the lineup changes. They need to keep building up the points totals through any means they can muster. |

I know everyone keeps talking about galchenyuck but Sam bennet name has recently been thrown out there and he's someone I personally would rather have. What do you guys think? His trade value seems to be relatively low right now as well. Could we get him and have him play 3c until nolan is back than move him to wing ? Could we move filpula to wing and place bennet in 3c and nolan 2c? |

I would be ok with either.
Plus next year they could lose/expect them to lose Filppula so you could have a group down the middle of Couturier/Patrick/Galchenyuk or Bennett.
But again any trade will probably be based on potential so even though value is low it still might cost more then assumed. I kept thinking Galchenyuk because it has been written and talked about in news that Montreal wants a vet top 4 and i think the Flyers could move a guy like Gudas in a deal like that. |
