Hey Justin what is in your opinion the biggest need for the blackhawks? Any trade rumblings that the hawks might be exploring or all quiet for now. |

Head coach.
Listen, if we say Q is great with great talent, and sucks when the talent is thin, then doesn't that mean he is only as good as his talent? Aren't great coaches supposed to win with any talent? |

How do we get Cornelison to join her? - StLBravesFan
Doubtful it'll happen. Corliellson is part of the marketing from Mcd. Same thing with Chelsea Dagger, people tune in, just to see/hear that.

It's often a lot harder to win with top talent - e.g., Phil Jackson.
If you consider him a great coach, it's because he was able to get great superstars (Jordan, Pippen, Bryant, Shaq) to play together and sacrifice to win - what - 11 championships, I guess.
But - I don't know that he could take a team of young players who need developing and bring them to the top - he never had to do it.
We DO know he was a crap GM.

Yeah - I guess we're lucky they don't have him sing Chelsea Dagger after goals. |

I am with you on this... His schtick is old and worn out. Seems his volume was raised to drown out the audience . . . - riozzo
Or the audience isnt as loud as it used to be. |

"The Kids" 3rd line is what worries me. Too much inexperience and a small line physically. Hopefully Kane+Toews can work some magic and get Sharpie going. Glad to see Murphy staying in the lineup. I just don't see the necessary improvements in decision-making in the neutral zone and at the offensive blue line from Kempny. Forsling-Seabrook is a concern LOL but Keith-Rutta should be a solid pairing. FINALLY some Blackhawks' hockey...seems like it's been ages since their last game!! - EnzoD
kids line on road, without last line change....scary!!!! |

We'd still be waiting for the chorus to start. (frank)ing cannot stand Cornhole, he has made the national anthem all about Jim Cornhole and not about national pride. Plus, he can't keep time. (frank) him and the opera cart he rode in on.
Sage, agree with you 1,000% on the great coach post BTW -- Jackson was a master at getting great talent to trust other, lesser lights in order to achieve their ultimate goal of a championship. I suspect that is how Q will be seen when they put the final Q coaching chapter in the book too. Had some incredible talent and widely varying personalities and was somehow able to get them to pull the rope hard in the same direction for 3 CUPS.
My only regret is he wasn't a bit better than that. Because I think he DID have the talent in enough supply to win at least 1 more (maybe 2011 or 2014) but missed the mark. |

If the other 3 lines stay together, I don't expect that Kid's line to see much ice time. But who are we kidding, if these lines stay together more than the 1st period I'd be surprised. |

Hey Savvy, hope you're well sir. I would counter and say if the Mastermind had added another center in 14 and #4D in 16 who knows...thought they lost too much after the cup win in 2010. But who knows if Sharpie scores in the OT in Vancouver...well Vancouver as we know it wouldn't still be here.
Meantime let's see how the boys come out this evening. Haven't won in Philly in the regular season since this day 21 years ago. |

You as well DK (I'm doing OK, no complaints). Maybe so (re Stan) but still think Q, if he had been able to work a little more wizardry, might have pulled off a CUP in either of those years. Sharpie was always infamous for (as Philco would say) shooting into the goalie's crest.
I'm not expecting too much tonight but am thinking the Murphy pairing might give me a few good laughs. |

Don’t know about 2011 - they had just enough talent and (more importantly) just enough understanding of how to defend a championship to get into the tournament on the last day because Minnesota beat Dallas after the Hawks had lost to Detroit that Sunday afternoon.
2014? Knocked out of a Final Four game 7 overtime by a deflection - just as easily could have a favorable deflection somewhere along the line. Seventh game OTs - a crapshoot.

It's time to tank for a high draft pick, trade some bad contracts at the deadline and hire a coach who knows how to develop young talent.
I guess that the only good news is that Rockford is doing well, and those kids are learning how to win. |
