Yep that was the fun times. We'd go to the Meadowlands and Nassau almost yearly and walk in and take over.

Best road memory was JvR getting a hatty on my birthday at Nassau and the Flyer fans breaking out in a "This is our house" chant.

You should have seen it at the Meadowlands during the 80s. The Flyers would score and the place would erupt. The Devils would score (rarely) and 35 or so people would timidly clap. We totally owned that dump!

Yeah, I hear ya. Most of my family lives only 75 miles away, but I try to see them as little as possible. Being in a family business makes it that much more difficult, but at least my brother I can get along with. My sister, well, not so much.

Can't wait to move to Florida for good in a few years and put another 1000+ miles between us though. Life is just too short to deal with miserable, negative folks, even if they are family.

Last time I went to the old building it was a playoff game. Almost the entire upper bowl was empty and the rest of the crowd was majority Flyers fans. Gagne scored a few and we won.

This is a ridiculous comment. We all know that this was the result of the wheel spin.

It really made no sense moving a team to North Jersey, nor building a new building to keep them there. By the time they came on the scene, most of the hockey fans in the area were die hard Rags fans and the rest were kids who grew up on the Isles early 80s dynasty. The NHL has over saturated the NY market by having 3 teams.

I've only seen the Flyers play in Detroit, Toronto, Columbus and oddly London Ontario. The Flyers fans normally even things up everywhere I've gone. Maybe 40/60.

The Devils really have a fanbase that's noticeable anywhere?

- SuperSchennBros

I know a couple. You do see them at games when the Devils come in.

You don't see as many of them as you might Rangers fans or even Pens fans, but they are there.

I still think the Jersey franchise is superfluous and unnecessary, but they do have some fans. But, I'm also guessing that the Thrashers had fans too.

/possibly went too far on that last sentence

So, every time a new blog comes out for the last 3 days, the previous one has just disappeared right? This is not just my browser or something?

Yep - that's how it is for me, too. Quite a site they've got here.

I remember being on a bus trip to the Meadowlands in the '80's for a Flyers-Devils game. The Brendan Byrne arena was being at a Flyers home game in those days.

a lot of devils fans in the LHV for whatever reason...as always...more NYR fans than necessary too, but definitely more Devils fans than there should be

I can understand the confusion, but it is in fact a wheel. However, they are drunk when "deciding"

I also remember going on a bus trip to the Cap Centre (I was about 15 or so). I don't remember it being quite as bad as the Brendan Byrne arena, but there were lots of Flyers fans, for sure.

I couldn't hack having him.

1. He was really stinking up the joint
2. It made me nauseous to be happy when he did get a win
