lol - okay, Haystacks was cool. So was Andre the Giant, George The Animal Steele, and Chief Jay Strongbow. WWF was better back in the olden days.
- Scoob

My favorite eras were late 80s NWA and late 90s WWF

To me that's what it is. It's comic relief. Don't get into it too deep anymore.

I loved the old Horsemen and thought when they added Beniot it was a great idea as Arn was not able to do what he did and Beniot was the perfect guy to replace him with. But yeah not so much anymore. I rarely watch it on tv anymore and I may catch a PPV or two at a friends house each year.

Stumbled across it the other night while channel surfing between periods of the VGK game (I think that was the game). Some dude with a bad dye-job psuedo mullet was wrestling a woman with other women wrestlers prowling around the outside of the ring. I changed the channel in less than one minute - so bad I actually cringed.

Never got into wrestling, but I understand its glory days were before my time.

One of my good family friends has a whole bunch of WWE figures in his basement. And pinball machines. And Looney Toons figures. (frank)ing love Looney Toons.

Yep that would have been turned off my tv real fast also. I like the old mixed tags where when a tag was made both teams changed.

I've got the WWE network, $10 per month, you get every ppv, original program and their library which includes every WWF/WWE, WCW/NWA, EWC ppvs, old territory shows, every Raw and Nitro episode etc... To me, that's worth $10 a month

This was my question coming into this season!

Anyone who had a clue knew this tandem was not one that would breed success.

The season is a month old. Did Hextall not have a clue?

NWA in it's heyday was incredible. Flair made it all happen.

Yup. To be the man, you got to beat the man! Flair vs Steamboat was as good as it gets.

There were some good battles between those two.

I lived in SC in the late 70s for a few years. Used to go to the matches with a buddy from work.

The next town over used to hold the matches outside on the football field.
Used to get ringside seats for 5 bucks.
gotta tell you, it is a much bigger hoot when you are right next to the guys.

This was the NWA. Saw Steamboat, Ken Patera, Super Fly Jimmy Snuka. Black Jack Mulligan.

Nice Saturday night. Pounding beers and watching me some rasslin.

Awesome! My uncle was a big fan, took me to matches all the time at the Spectrum and the old Philly Civic center. He used to tell me stories about seeing guys like Gorgeous George, The Crusher, Buddy Rogers and Lou Thesz. I grew up on the old WWWF watching guys like Sammartino, Koloff, Putski, Chief Jay Strongbow, Superstar Billy Graham and of course, Andre the Giant. Those were fun times!
