I understand that it sucks for people, but let's be honest, they're a business and no business will voluntarily lower prices for a product that has no trouble selling.

People call in and say "I've been a season ticket holder for 10 years..." and expect some sort of special treatment. Businesses don't give a poop about your loyalty. If you don't buy it someone else will. The only thing they care about is if that seat is sold.

And that's exactly how they get you. The "what about when they're good?" argument. So it comes down to if you'd rather throw money away for years, or not have tickets for 2 or 3 years. It's like someone complaining that their Escalade costs $90K.

- Wetbandit1

The worst part of season tickets is : the cheapest seat in the arena is $30 a game plus $15 per preseason.

Sabres now developed level 5 seating for $25 a game for some games
Also: kids day $15 with an adult ticket purchase

They have definitely lost plenty of season ticket holders, so they lowered the price for the upper corners.
Many of the seats are owned by ticket brokers too

Were u expecting Mittelstadt to be Eichel?
Mittelstadt might not even be 1 and done in College
And if he is...
he’s probably gonna be in Rochester next year, not Buffalo
It’s not a secret that they wanna develop guys more slowly...
even if they have the talent to be here

- jdfitz77

I think you're going to be Wrong with Mittelstadt he's one and done
if he progresses the way he has been he will make the team out of camp next year

And that's a big problem too. But the team sees that as a seat sold, so what do they care? When and if sales drop significantly they'll lower the prices.

In his junior year, in his freshman year he was a point per game 44 points.

Jack scored 71 points in 40 games in his freshman year

Where did you get the stats you just used?
- Wetbandit1

Off memory from last year when I looked.

Kane scored his first few on Eichel’s line, then went on a hot streak for a few games with the Girgs/Gionta line, then eventually moved back with Eichel.

I could be off when I say half but a bunch of his goals were from Jack last year too

Mittelstadt is not scoring 80 points this year. That is crazy talk. If he scores 50 I'd be ecstatic.

Last night it was pretty empty. I was suprised, as a hockey fan , ovi in town should have brought in some fans. It was a tuesday and the bills are still alive., that could have something to do with it?

15 total goals between Kane and Eichel last year in 267 minutes. I don't know if that's all situations or just 5v5 puckIQ's site doesn't say.

Possibly, I doubt it though. We might finally be seeing the beginnings of fan revolt. They were booing Jack for not shooting. Bulldog was saying how deserted it was before the game too, that when they leave 716 after the show before the game there are usually more people around.

It's called being entertained which the sabres are not they have to be the worst at getting people in involved and trying to cheer on their team

it's like a (frank)ing morgue some nights

It’s the most likely scenario, I agree
But I also think he most likely plays a year in Rochester

I’d say it’s pretty unlikely he’s in the Sabres lineup next year

As long as Nylander looks good by the end of this year, I think he will be up with the Sabres full-time next season
Bailey & Baptiste too
E Rod & Fasching also have a shot
Asplund is gonna figure in somewhere as well

Since we don’t have room for all those guys...
I’m expecting some will get traded

That doesn’t seem to be the way Botterill wants to develop guys
I doubt Mittelstadt is here next year

Look at Guhle
He also has the talent to be here,
but it appears they’re keeping him in Rochester

50ish seems about right
You’d think his ppg will go up as the season goes on
Not 80 though
This kid isn’t Jack

I don't think he leaves college for the AHL it Sabres or nothing only way he signs a contract

and i hate the AHL it's the worst place for development i would rather him stay in college

and if you look at all the interviews with mittelstaedt he indicates he's done after this year

Okposo isn't over 30. He'll turn 30 in the offseason.
- Wetbandit1

Damn. He has not looked like a young player in a few years now. I honestly thought the guy was going on 32.

My bad.

I still hated the signing and stand by most of what I said.

You're good. Me thinking he was over 30 actually makes it worse, because he looks like he's the same age as Jagr out there most nights.

I agree. I honestly think it killed Girgenson's career.

The AHL is full of bitter, ornery head-hunting grinders and scrubs who are furious they aren't good enough to have played in the NHL full-time. And they absolutely head-hunt younger guys.

So what if it was or wasn’t his pick
J Botts has said over & over that he wants the kids to develop in the minors

Just bc YOU don’t like it,
doesn’t mean that’s how the Sabres will act

And of course Mittelstadt is gonna talk like he expects to make the Sabres next year...
don’t all good prospects do that though?
They all say something generic like...
“Yeah, my goal is to make the NHL. I’ve gotta keep working on my game, but I think can contribute, etc etc”
