The Rangers have 2.49 million dollars in cap Space. The knights can eat half of Shipachycov's deal. You acted like trading for that guy would be impossible. Study up. You live on the internet.

I'm not off the deep end at all. When I see the Rangers. I don't see Championship contender. Even the GM slightly admitted as such when said "Rebuild on the fly" Rebuilding on the fly doesn't work. Not with an aging goalie, a coach on hot seat and teams that has given away multiple leads early on in the season.

You do you Jim. You're a strong, independent man.

I acted like trading for it would be DUMB not impossible, especially considering the guy is signed for next year too considering all the other contract issues the Rangers have for next year. Even 2.25 million committed to an absolutely unknown guy like Shipachyov next year is nuts.

look you guys were giddy, Larry Brooks said one more loss and the Rangers would be firing Vigneault.

Now they are on a 4 game winning streak and may have best powerplay the NYR have had in 20+ years, Vigneault is going nowhere and I can understand you guys getting cranky.

I really didn't believe it was going to happen, I thought if they kept going south, Rangers may fire him around New Year's like in 1992 when they canned Roger Neilson.

They were always going to give him more than 12 games especially considering his 2 year extension.

this is coming from a person who was not a fan of fast in the past: He looks drastically better this year. It might just be me but he looks like he put on about 15lbs. he is playing much bigger than he has in the past and as a result he is a very useful player. great player to have on the 4th line that is willing to do anything to win.

On another note - what do we do with Brendan Smith? its clean that AV and Co do not like him and dont want to play him. We just signed him and he already looks like Girardi 2.0. he seems to have lost all of his snarl, which is the sole reason they signed him.

Not cranky at all. The common denominator in the complain has been you. I know the Rangers have professional pride. Almost all athletes do. I don't believe the Rangers have a realistic shot at competing for a championship, like they did in 2012, 2014 and 2015. For people who are enjoying this 4 game winning streak, go ahead; enjoy it. Long win streaks in pro sports come few and far between now because of parity.

Allowing people to have an opinion is what differentiates you and I.

well, I'd be nice and let you apologize to me for your ridiculous attitude towards me when I questioned why any Ranger fan would want Shipachyov last week but that's not your style
- jimbro83

I would have taken a chance on him, would like to see him and Buch together and is an upgrade IMO to Desharnais, still need that other C

You act like AV isn't going to make anymore severely questionable decisions, doubt we go the rest of the season without Buch hitting the 4th line

You act like you know Gorton disapproves at how he handles Buchnevich’s icetime.

Got to admit since Buch came back from the 4th line he has been on fire. I'm on the record as thinking it was dumb move, but it looks like he is handling Buch like he did Miller. Miller would get put on the 4th when he wasn't playing to what AV wanted.

Sometimes these stints on the 4th line are huge motivating factors at why guys end up playing well. The way Keenan used to handle Kovalev certainly motivated him to be enormous in ‘94 playoffs. Herb Brooks used to thrive doing these psychological things.

Yeah, and I'm glad Buch obviously learned from it. I was a bit worried how he would handle it mentally, because he wasn't playing all that bad. Looks like he took it to play even better. Good for him. Definitely an important part of this team.

I think Hank(not sure) said after the game he is also much better with his English and the change in culture and he is 100% more comfortable than last year.

Plus that back issue he had last year seems completely fine. Knock on wood.

The way he is playing physical, which surprised the hell out of me, had no idea that was part of his game, I would say he feels great.

I actually stopped coming here. Figured I'd give it a little time to simmer down. Came back today and what do you know, they're still going at it...
