Avalanche with all these prospects, picks AND now more cap space...it will be an interesting summer for them. Colorado fans should be excited. Predators are the big winner here because they really improved the team big time and not giving up prime dmen. BUT they end up with Turris and not the best player aka Matt Duchene. As for Ottawa, I believe you gave way too much for a slightly upgraded lateral move in my opinion. I don't really understand this move. |

coming from someone that is always trolling in the Sens thread has no value! lol
Bowers is a late 1st pick being 28th overall in a weak draft... he's exactly what i said, a nobody at THIS time...not a Chabot, Hanifin or any other big prospect that were rumored to go for Duchene...Hammond IS trash... A third isn't worth much...a 1st is good, especially in this draft but hoping to be another late 1st...had to give something else instead of Chabot, White or Brown...
I like Turris but if they couldn't commit long term, might as well package him to upgrade the position...now let's hope that Duch has chemistry with the team and can't wait to see him with Stone, Hoff, Ryan and especially Karlsson...and that we can re-sign him if so! - Raven33
Stone is rfa, karlsson is ufa and dutchy is ufa all at the same time. Better hope they dont have chemistry because your gonna be sad when the sens run out of money after stone and karlsson. |

hopefully they will re-sign him...a lot of people were saying that Ryan was bolting for the Flyers and he re-signed... - Raven33
An asset is an asset. Ottawa did not want to give Turris a long term deal. They obtained an even more valuable asset in return. Not entirely improper to think that trading Duchene next year is solid asset management.
Ottawa traded a first round pick and a second to get Turris, Nobody cares today. It was a great deal and this deal needs a few more years to fully play out. |

I think a lot of people are overlooking how stellar of a prospect Girard is. Dude is legit, made some real fine plays in the game I saw when the Flyers played, and I bet there's a lot of Nashville fans sad to see him go. Seems like the real deal as a 19 yo |

Ottawa gave up Turris a 2017 1st a 2018 1st and a 3rd for duchene haha. Is duchene really 2 1sts and a 3rd better than turris |

We will have to see if Duchene can help them go deeper into the playoffs than last year.
Turris was an exceptional defensive player. He will be missed.
But, Boucher wants Duchene. |

I will save you the suspense. The answer is no.
Also Turris is definitely not an exceptional defensive player... |

He might not get the buzz around him bc hes just one of many good Preds Prospect, but I agree Girard is no slouch.
Its an interesting set of Dmen that the Avs have collected recently. With Barrie, you have Makar and now Girard who are very undersized but stellar puck moving Dmen.
The continue focused on speed and skill continues with what Sakic has been trying to put together post Roy |

All I keep hearing is about how deep this draft is supposed to be. It may not be loaded with Generational talent, but it's supposed to be the deepest draft as far as all around quality in a very long time, so an extra 1st, 2nd and 3rd will be nice. - Rinosaur
All I here is the opposite.
Not that deep with high end talent.
Simply decent prospects |

??....
Colin White has played shown he can play in the playoffs - and a big game at that. Also Chabot just needs to adjust to a bigger game, he has the speed + hockey sense. I'm not saying either will be top 4 or top 6, but certainly playing in key situations, whether PK or just getting more ice time. With the way Boucher loves his vets, that's a bigger role - AlfieisKing
Did you watch the sens at all during their playoff games? Colin White dressed for 1 game where he skated for a whopping 2:39. I guess getting on the ice is showing he can play in the playoffs. Mighty big two and a half minutes he played there. Real contributor to their playoff run. |

Most drafts are roughly the same. It is just a talking point every year about the strength of the draft. |

Sakic has Been asking for the moon and stars for Duchene for almost a year now. Serious question: how’d sakic do here? I️ know very little about what went back to Colorado in this deal. |

Dynamic Duchene Stat Dump
2014-15 to 2017-18
All Situations
Duchene(Turris)
G60: 0.96(0.91)
P60: 2.17(2.11)
P160: 1.67(1.7) - Feds91Stammer
This has to be one of the dumbest comparisons. Duchene will be in a much better position than he was previously - equal to what Turris was in with Ottawa. Playing in a crappy situation; no off to Avs fans.
Coga, if I said that was the 3 way deal you would of threw it back in my face. It's quantity over quality. Bowers will take years, hammond is a toss in (though I hope he does well in COL as a back up). I like the D-man from Nashville but in terms of what was being asked, again, it's quantity over quality. It only becomes quality if Sakic makes good on those picks or Girard becomes a solid top 3D - which is very possible so objectively (as someone said I'm not) I think it's good for all teams. Preds look good too but Turris in 4 years isn't worth 6M |

Best player on the ice for sure. So good in fact that they decided to dress Chris Neil in the next game instead of White just to give the other team a chance |
