Unless he’s being moved back to wing, no chance. If he does, still very meh
- sbroads24

I don't know about that.

If he hits 50 points with Girgensons and Griffith as his wings and the majority of those points are not on the PP, I'd consider that more than meh.

I meant if he does that on Jack’s wing.

maybe we should first see if he can actually be productive in that role...don't get me wrong, of all the players murray traded away, he was one I hated to see go
- Michael Pachla

When it was a line of Compher (at C) Jost and Landeskog, they were basically deployed as a 2nd line shut down role and did well. They were getting a boat load of defensive starts and did not look out of place.

My mini Drury will be fine

that's where I disagree...their passing has improved considerably year over year...for the most part...

their goaltending this year has been awful and they've been caught cheating too many times...all but four players are having trouble scoring while the defense has too many bottom-pairing/ahl players in the mix...

and don't forget about the Griffith obsession which will probably reach the level of Bylsma/grant before he realizes that Griffith is a damn good ahl'er

- Michael Pachla

I dunno man, we are possibly the worst passing team in hockey for going on 10+ years now.

Somehow though, I suspect it's the ice.

For what they got him for, I'm beyond aggravated that we didn't send them McCabe, Reinhart, 1st, 2nd and be done with it.

Tavares has already signed in Toronto, just like Stamkos.

They'll be better than what they're playing like right now. Just not by as much as people initially hoped for

I say this mostly in sarcasm. I've said this multiple time over the past few seasons. October is full of bad teams that play well and good teams that play poorly. The end of November is when you really start to see what kind of team you really have. Granted there are some exceptions. The most notable being the 2011 Sabres.

I dont have the numbers on hand but i looked into that team a little while back. The puck luck early in the year...like through december was some of the worst in the past 20 years. But the best part was how it corrected itself with a ridiculous 16-4-4 run backed by jhonas freaking enroth

Mcdavid, Draisaitl, Klefbom, Talbot, nugent-hopkins... The eberle trade was brutal but i still figured they'd be in a playoff spot.

They might end up being there.

Difference between us and them is that we have seen Edmonton’s core carry them there. We haven’t come close to seeing ours do that

This is the classic Jay Cutler tease game that makes you think he's a good QB. No mistakes 300+ yards 3TDs comeback at the end to get them within striking distance of OT after being down 11. Next week he'll come out and throw for 160 yards a TD, 3 INTs and a lost fumble.

Both arguments aren't going to matter in a few months. The bloated contracts that GMTM gave Okposo, Moulson, Bogo (traded for) and to some extent ROR will not allow us to sign Kane long term - plus the lack of talent that Murray has left us with will see us waste a year of Kane's prime this season. He's as good as gone at the trade deadline.
- The_Inkwell

There’s PLENTY of room to sign Kane if we want to keep him

Moving out Moulson to a Cap floor team will be pretty easy after this year. His Cap is 5.0mil, but after we pay his 1mil bonus the new team will only owe him 2mil

So that 5mil in Cap room off our books to use towards Kane
