Yeah I mean everything definitely has a practical application somewhere, but for the overwhelming majority of the population learning standard deviation and bell curves is completely irrelevant. But yeah, I guess the intellectual growth factor of learning some hard stuff is an underlying reason for a lot of it.

Honestly, I find the amount of stuff that I have learned and since forgotten to be totally depressing. I would venture to say that the percentage of stuff you actually retain is really, really low. I read of poop ton of books, and it sometimes to depresses me when someone asks me about something I read 3-4 years ago, and I can barely even remember the plot.

Maybe I need to start taking that fish oil stuff.

Maybe the old: "1 girl 16 years old who does 69 3 times is..." works on it?

It's even worse when people are talking about a book or movie that you haven't read or seen, except you realize later that you actually have and just didn't remember. That's when I call my Mom and apologize for questioning how she couldn't remember something back when I was a kid. lol

Not really...someone brought up yesterday that the Rangers were the worst Original 6 franchise and never won a cup in 25 years of a 6 team league where certain teams were given exclusive rights to top tier players and when a NYR team was good enough they had to play all their home games on the road because of the (frank)ing circus. But hey lets compare it to the modern day NHL like that poop never happened.
- climbdenali12

MMmmmm... That's sounds like me.

Except the top tier talent and circus part. I didn't mention that but they're both completely true....

It very well might happen that we will finish last in the Metropolitan, but we will still have more fans...

Just out of curiosity, what do they call the good attendance trophy?

That's so impressive in a city with only 8,500,000 people in it. You must be so proud.

I bet there is equal numbers fans outside the city then there are inside it. In fact, I think most in NYC don't know much about the Rangers and hockey in general.

The Rangers, like the Yankees, football Giants & Knicks will always have more fans because they have been around for a lot longer than they're NY rival team (Islanders, Devils, Mets, Jets & Nets). Simple math, I could care less if we have more fans, or more publicity than the other teams, it means jack.

It means nothing, correct. Just an interesting thought, I wonder how many hockey fans live inside the city limits.

I remember NBC did their morning show outside the Garden before Game 3 of the Cup final in 2014 & sadly it seemed a lot of the city didn't even know what WAS GOING ON. It's hockey, sadly it just will never be more than a niche sport in America.

Morning boys. Isn’t life so much more beautiful when the rangers aren’t sucking?

Tonight is a must win game IMO. If the Rangers are going to crawl back into the standings, they need to be Florida, one of the few teams they are ahead of in the standings

Was at a wedding last night for my friend's daughter. Didn't get hopped up, but a friend of ours did and wouldn't leave the father of the bride alone (kind of dating). He was there for his daughter, not to party with her.

Part of why I don't live in the city.
Balmorhea at Philamoca on Wednesday was incredible.
Had Pliny at Monk's.
A few at a neighborhood bar on Spring Garden. 2 more at Prohibition Taproom where the DJ was spinning early punk rock.
I was in the perfect headspace for Balmorhea. Not hopped up, but mellow.
Great night.
