The worst part is that it would be stupid to trade away Marner, even though right now he is worse than Hyman.

I would like to see JVR and Bozak gone, even if it makes them worse in the short term. A team with defense and goaltending as bad as the Leafs is going to struggle to make the playoffs, nevermind actually contend.


At some point they need someone who can play defense, and I guess they just eat Andersen's contract for the next 3 years.

Freddy was fine last year. Don't get me wrong he's been terrible this year but who you think you are going to go out and get who's gonna be better playing behind this defense? There's a better chance of Freddy going back to plying the way he's played his whole career up until this year than us finding and elite starter. Look at price. JVR is easily replaced, Bozak is a centre. Who do the Leafs have to replace him (this year)? Nylander? Marleau? Just double shift Matthews?
