That's fine. I'll give it to you. But you can't defend 5 being out there.

It's just hyper frustrating that jack generates about 85% of our offense. Lots of passengers on this team.

Good God...
u guys just like to b!tch & complain

First,
The Sabres played pretty well

Second,
Jack’s line was on the ice for nearly a minute from 2:18 to about 1:25

At that point, they changed on the fly to O’Reilly’s Line... which held the puck in the offensive zone until there was 20 seconds left

Did u really want them to make a line change with that little time left?

What an absolute dumba$$ comment to say “why wasn’t Jack out there?”

Sorry to be harsh...
but if you’re gonna b!tch,
at least make some damn sense

Which is on the coaching there.

His line shouldn't have been there knowing the goalie was coming to the bench

It's going to take Botterill multiple years to dig out from the mess that Murray left. I couldn't see it at the time, but it's painfully obvious now that Murray had no business running an NHL team. The lack of talent on this roster outside of maybe 4-5 players is astounding.
- The_Inkwell

Murray is at Millbury levels. Awful GM. It was obvious at the time as well

What?!
O’Reilly’s line was just out there...
so you’d have put the 3rd line on the ice?!
HELL NO!

You put Jack’s line out there bc u want them out as much as possible...
you don’t save them for the last minute

And they were putting on pressure in the offensive zone for most of that time

If Housley pulls Jack off the ice early,
there’s still no guarantee that play would’ve stopped & we could get him back out there

It was unfortunate circumstances due to game flow
Housley didn’t screw that up in the least

They need to make a move.

If they aren’t going to resign him, than trade Kane now while he’s at a PPG.

If they don’t think Reinhart fits long term than trade him before he has a 35 point season and his value is low.

Do something, soon. We need more speed, more depth, more defense.

The sabres played well enough to win and they didn't. They are just not good enough. Many of their front line players are 2nd and 3rd liners on good teams at best. Evander Kane does try....but he cannot stickhandle or pass/playmake..that's not good at all. It is the time to start looking towards next year. It is not too early, it is what it is. Too bad another year of Jack Eichel being on the team is being wasted.

How dare you suggest reinhart might have a 35 point season . Remember he had 23 and 17 goals. He's on pace for 28 points and a minus 56

The teams that would want him can't afford him yet. He's probably going to be a deadline deal when all but the most cash strapped teams can afford pretty much anyone.

If he plays 3rd line and gets 35 points, it isn't really that bad tbh. He hasn't played well, but if we're just going off points it is simply logical that his pts will go down as he moves down the lineup. He's a 40+ pt player in the top6, probably closer to 30 pts if he's 3rd line.

Hard to argue with that. I just hope we can get a decent return. Would prefer to resign, but if it isn't in the cards a good defensive prospect to go alongside Guhle would be awesome.

Definitely. If he gets dealt it will be a TDL move. $5M+ is a lot to ask some of these teams to take on right now.

Yes actually.

It's coaching 101, when you pull the goalie for the extra attacker you want your best 6 players on the ice.

That's pretty funny, I agree with the kane and deadline trade. Maybe we take back some salary, and move him while he's still healthy.

Anyone else wondering if we are stealth tanking. Maybe Botterill came in and let the pegulas know how messed up gmtm left things. He might want a few cracks at top 10 draftees. It's still the formula that chicago and Pittsburgh used. Build thru high picks. Middlestat looks like a good start.
