"I do not listen to the radio; I have Spotify. I do not know what you're talking about," Galchenyuk said Tuesday after scoring during the Canadiens' 5-1 win against the Panthers. "I do not know what you're talking about. Next question."

When you answer a question with "next question", something's probably up.

I know he's had issues, something about his gf and an all night party at his place with another Canadiens player. It was a few years ago. I don't remember the specifics, but it was in the news.

He did say "I do not know what you're talking about." a few times and then came out with the next question. It sounds like he's lying and trying to convince everyone a little too hard.

I saw him training years ago on the beach in Miami when I was vacationing that's really surprising to hear to be honest

Yeah - even “I don’t know what you’re talking about” isn’t “I never went to rehab and I don’t have a substance abuse problem.”

Of course, Over the years Tremblay has proven himself to be a total Richard, too.

EDIT: I’m gonna keep the auto edit in there because I like what it does to that sentence.

I don't think anyone in their right mind believed that was his #1 reason for leaving.

I did.

But I also believe that gullible is not in the dictionary, and that there are pancakes on the ceiling.

I heard about the Gally stuff yesterday on TSN radio, not sure who this coach thinks he is, but how the hell is that his business to say anything about a possible rehab stint.
Complete Richard move by him imo.
And really what is the player supposed to say "yeah I have a drug problem, but you know I got help", its literally no ones business except his, his family and the owner and GM of the Canadians.

Could maybe sue for libel. He could have just marked him as untouchable and cost the kid his career or the Canadians a better deal if they wanted to trade him. Not cool.

If the Bills can get anything for him, it was still worth signing him. Package him with a practice squad guy for a 7th. Whatever

I assume the Canadian legal system has some equivalent of HIPAA laws that he may have violated.

He could be in actual legal trouble

I don't think HIPAA (or the Canadian equivalent) laws apply to coaches, only to medical professionals. That information may still be protected, but I don't think it would be under that.

I don't think so, remember the big deal about the reporter taking pictures of JPP's chart after he blew half his hand off with fireworks?

I remember at the time, people said he could be sued under HIPAA

The only people that could have been sued were the ones that made the chart available. Also, the guy never was sued to my knowledge.

This was from Spector on Wednesday:

"The report points out a player who takes part in the league’s assistance program has the right to do so on a confidential basis and isn’t obligated to inform his team. If Galchenyuk did receive treatment, Tremblay’s remarks could be considered a violation of the confidentiality policy. If he didn’t take part in the program, Tremblay will be under pressure to explain himself."

Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul has settled his lawsuit against ESPN and reporter Adam Schefter over Schefter’s posting of Pierre-Paul’s private medical records on Twitter in July 2015.

As was my original point. It was probably still protected information, but not under HIPAA (or the Canadian/Quebec equivalent).

Hahaha
We do live in “Upstate NY” though

I have no clue why that bothers ppl that we get grouped into it?

- jdfitz77

If you take into account that we're a spherical object floating in space and traveling millions upon millions of miles per hour, that the Earth rotates on an axis and all flat map representations of the Earth are inaccurate to say the least, we fluctuate between being further South than Downstate in the summer, to further North than Upstate in the winter and hence why we're correctly labelled WESTERN NEW YORK because we're neither Downstate nor Upstate.

We aren't Upstate no matter how some people or outlets try to spin it and I personally don't like being called a resident of Upstate because I'm not a (frank)ing Hillbilly.
