The whole Morin debate really gets me aggrevated too when articles online and sports writers are saying Morin was a monster in last night's phantoms win. All over the ice looking like a stud. Meanwhile manning looks.... manning

I'm figuring 18-19 or 19-20 at the latest. If Vegas grabs a playoff spot this year to go with the already great ticket sales they will call it a major win and want to do it again asap. They'll use the same format as well. Its highly likely we lose one our young d

I doubt that happens. A trade will be made before Hexy allows that.

They need to change their philosophy. The Flyers view themselves as Keepers of the Holy Win and Do Things the Right Way. It's all fugazi.

They're not winning a cup this year. Implement the youth (that is ready!) and let them take their lumps.

And before some of you point out the youth that is already in the lineup, let me be clear that I realize this. But the Flyers still have one foot in that door and one foot out. Players like Morin that are clearly ready should be playing. End of story.

They don't need to change their philosophy. They have a 78M payroll.

I can see the Flyers doing what Columbus did and offering picks to take a lesser player of the Flyers' choosing. No telling if the expansion team will accept the offer, but it's what I'd try to do if I was the Flyers.

Provorov hagg sanheim gost Morin at minimum will be exposed. If you decide to protect 4 you leave someone of Jake g coots simmer tk nolan exposed. I would think hexy would send a pick to ensure they take whom we wanted taken but it'll be someone good still. Just not as bad as it could hurt

True, my point is that I don't see one of Provy, Hagg, Sanheim, Myers or Morin getting picked.

Ghost will already be traded

He'd better not be. Or is he getting packaged with Simmonds for more picks that are 3-4 years away?

Also, who would want Morin? He's not even good enough to replace the Brandon Manning's of the world.

Depends on when the draft is, and what who we elect to sign/resign, but I still don't expect to have one of those Dman selected without a trade.

One thing Hextall is is calculated. He will have a plan for that when it comes. I don't agree with all of the things he has/has not done, but I do have faith in him when it comes to planning for the future.

That is a damn fine point.

Also, there's no way Morin will ever be as "hard working" as Manning. Manning has worked so hard that he's an NHL regular based purely on how hard he works. I hear he's also quite handy with pom poms, a true team player type.

Read an article the other day entitled manning works his way into being nhl regular for flyers. Did he ? Or did MacDonald get injured? I got confused.

We only have over 100 games of evidence as to how good they are. There is a chance Manning plays really well in practice, so we have no way of knowing Morin is better

They have been slow to respond to league trends since the shootout was put in. Are you really surprised that they still overvalue vets? Players like Weise?

It’s weird, they simply refuse to fully commit to a rebuild. Winzzzz

I'm gonna call my shot. I don't think Patrick scores tonight. I think Patrick scores his second goal Saturday night on hockey night in Canada. I think special things happen in Toronto on Saturday first Flyers each time they play there.

Morin gets called up tomorrow.

Manning is higher on the respect meter than Morin. Flyers are in the hunt for the most respected lineup in the league.

It’s just frustrating. You’ve now even got injuries to play the kids, hell you could be safe and sit Patrick + put in Vech but that is simply too much to ask for apparently.

Man losing bellemare and vdv must of really damaged our respect meter no wonder manning can't come out

A lot of fans as well are to blame. How many on here think the Penguins cups are tainted? What about the Patriots super bowl wins?

History surely doesn't care how they won. Neither do their respective fan bases. NOR SHOULD THEY!

This isn't a gentleman's game. Do whatever it takes to win a cup. There are multiple avenues. Bend the rules. Tank if necessary (not what the Flyers should do at this particular juncture).

There is no virtue in doing things "the right way".

Realistically it’s not that. I think it’s just that the club refuses to play 3 rookie D, or more rooks up front.

IMO it’s very dinosaur like thinking.

You mean they refuse to fully commit to your idea of what a rebuild is. Flyers have a bunch of young players on the team with more on the way. They will never be a team that does not try and compete and win. The difference between now and the past is that they're no longer willing to give up the future to try and win now. Why should the Flyers just give up seasons with a 78M payroll and players such as Giroux, Voracek, Simmonds, etc in their prime?

Flyers (10 points) are currently behind the Sens (12 points) despite the fact that the Flyers have a 5 win- 4 loss record compared to the Sens 4 win- 5 loss record.

This is the NHL.

I think if we play poorly over the next 5 it could happen. We're 0-1 And got thrashed so far without macdonald. Not that he would of made the difference but we go 1-4 2-3 over the next 5 and the d doesn't click you gotta try something amiright?

Meh. You won’t change people’s minds, and a lot are still living in those dead glory years. I don’t really care about that.

I am a fan though, and would enjoy seeing the best on ice product. It’s simple, Morin and arguably Vech should be playing.
