I said that too!
Buffalo vs Detroit....?
Who cares?
Even I’d rather have watched McDavid vs Crosby

It’s like the NHL tries to NOT make sense

- jdfitz77

A friend of mine was trying to figure out why we're playing Columbus on Rivalry night. They're not in our division, we've never played them in the playoffs, etc. There's just not one thing about this matchup that spells out "Rival" in any way.

yeah, playing with pouliot griffith, nolan etc should be padding his stats

it's not like he is playing with john scott

- homiedclown

Fun fact, Derek Grant is out producing nolan, pouliot, moulson and griffith combined with 3 points.

Not sure there's really a lesson to be learned, but uh, yeah

Come on, he has played 2 full season's + a 9 game stint and he is 10 games into his 3rd year... STOP SENSATIONALIZING.

Nylander is on pace for 0 points this year

I thought he looked more like what we're used to seeing when they put him back on the wing, but then we lost some guys to injury and he got put back at 3C for now.
- HonkFortheGoose

I expect him to be on the second line wing when we get 1 or 2 guys back and girgens or larsson as the 3rd line center

Their “rivalry” games are often not teams that are actually rivals
Idk what to say

I’m glad i don’t have to listen to Milburu as much anymore on the pregame or between periods

Technically speaking his 9 game stint does not count as a year according to the CBA.

So factually you’re not correct.

- Stripes77

So the CBA Is what YOU judge 23's nhl career at.

It's a fact: He played 9 games his first year , in the nhl. Whether or not you agree, he now is playing in his 4th season I'm the nhl. Nit picky or not.

Good point goose, 3rd coach and system. All of it disfunctional.

That was the only thing I could figure. Just can't remember if the schedule was out before or after the trade.

Know anyone with cable that's willing to give you their credentials? The NBC Sports app has come a long way. I have to use it when I dog sit for my friend because she isn't into sports and doesn't get it either.
- HonkFortheGoose

Not that I know of. My apartment has cable included but nbcsn is the only channel I don't get

They definitely make a lot of questionable decisions. The colored jersey's at home never bothered me. The majority of the NFL teams wear their colors at home as well, so whatever.

The faceoff penalty isn't new, they're now just enforcing it like it should have been. My beef with it is that they should call all penalties as they're supposed to be, not pick and choose.

I think they were smart to not go with ESPN. That whole empire is on quite the downward spiral. I think NBC does a good job personally (with the exception of Milbury).

This is actually occurring less and less. It's just different in hockey. Ice rink is a massive white surface, so with colors(colours) at home you end up seeing the same 2 colors every game. Football also wears the same helmets home and away.

My beef with it is that they should call all penalties as they're supposed to be, not pick and choose.

Classic NHL. That will be all but history come April. Unless of course the Sabres are in the hunt, then it will magically resurface against Jack Eichel on a critical in zone faceoff vs a league darling team. Mark my words.

Totally disagree. ESPN will be fine and will be around. They're suffering from a bad business decision to overpay for the NBA, coupled with cord cutters and piracy affecting their business. ESPN legitimizes your league. If hockey was on ESPN, they would get paid less but they would be on in every hotel bar, airport bar in America every night of the week. Every business traveler who likes sports checks into their hotel room and puts on ESPN for some entertainment. Plus the production quality would be 4x's as good. NBCSN broadcasts haven't changed one bit in 8 + years.

Moulson and retain 35% for a pick/minor prospect/young 4th liner.

Bogo and 35% retained for whatever you can get at this point.

You avoid buying either guy out and yet you don't clear full celery, you still get ~ 7MM in cap relief

- ImThatGuy

Moulson will be a guy that gets moved to a team trying to hit the he cap floor next year. He’s owed a mil signing bonus and a base of 2 mil. He’ll get moved after we pay his signing bonus and thus his new team is on the hook for only 2mil and cap of 5mil.

Holding and interference calls are not predictable

Stick lifting is slashing?

Delay of game penalties on faceoffs are dumb

Players not allowed tinted visors, tucked jerseys or anything that may display personality

- jcragcrumple

Thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiissssssssssssssss

Meanwhile in the NFL they encourage team celebrations now, which is awesome.

9 games does not equal a year.

How do you then explain how he played a year in the NHL and a year in juniors at the same time?

So if nylander plays 9 games this year, good or bad, he still hasn't played in the nhl according to the CBA.

Also nylander 1 assist in 4 (non) nhl games for the sabres

23. 1 assist his first non season.

But does he wear an “a”?
Oooooohhhhhh....
we should just waive him

His brother doesn’t wear a letter either
I guess his dad doesn’t know how to raise “leaders”

U literally make the worst points I’ve read on here in a while

Just say Sam isn’t living up to your expectations & u want to trade him or whatever

You don’t have to hit the floor if you don’t want the revenue sharing.
