Or do a big flop in your crease if a player comes close. That is what happened to Quick, he flopped, got pulled for concussion protocol. When he got to the dark room he had to tell them he faked it and flopped, so no need to go through the BS...

From the replay, it looks like his own player hit him in the head and not Hyman.

I agree with you that if there was someone to 'blame', then it would be Martin.
So yes - maybe Martin should have received 2 mins penalty

- MaximusAurelius

Did you watch the same game? Martin was hit from behind, slid partially into Quick and was at the side and out of the crease.
There's definitely a interference penalty on the Kings player for the hit on Martin when he did not have the puck.

Apparently we didn't because Martin was shoulder to shoulder with the Kings defender and fell over trying to get position.

There was a goal called off on a late,,, Late whistle.. someone should have been sitting in the box. And there is no such thing as an accidental trip, slash or high stick. Still a penalty.

After watching the play closely.

I gotta go with Mussel here *pukes*.

Seems to me like two players battling for position and Martin falling down, sliding on the goaltender.

If you call an interference penalty on this kind of contact, might as well spend the whole game on the powerplay.

But that is just my opinion.

And obviously the truth.

Anyone else notice the amount of interference, holding, and slashing to the hand area in last nights game that went uncalled? I thought the league was cracking down? I thought we had addressed interference years ago and this was the 'new' NHL? I just seemed to notice a lot from LA...?

Martin didn't go down for any of those things though. Maybe he should have gone for goalie interference.

The only thing that might be suspect is the defender gives Martin a little shove after he goes down.

The slashing calls have dropped significantly.

I can't say I'm surprised.

Polak definitely got one last night. The rest of the night it looked like they put their whistles away for a lot of it

Very frustrating to see the wide range of officiating. Putting the whistles away definitely favours a team like LA, Ottawa, etc. If they would call what should be called I have a feeling last night wouldn't have been as close... and Saturday might have been a different result...

The biggest challenge in reffing is consistency for sure. I don't know how you fix it unless you have a panel of 6 guys in the stands watching all the camera angles and communicating to refs on the ice wirelessly.

Only going by memory.. In the past, if there was an incident like this, someone was going to the box.

I thought it should have been a goal. JMO.

I agree. But I thought the Marleau goal was a high stick, so for me, it all evened out.
