Niemi is on waivers, Andrew Hammond trade in the works? Or someone like that.

Hammond or a good sized rock would be an upgrade for sure.

Brandon Sutter is so bad he’s the Canuck’s 4C, and it’s not like the Nucks have a ton of great centers. And he’s being paid 4.4 mil to play 4C. Whatever the opposite of winning a trade is, giving up literally anything for a 4th liner who’s being paid top 6 money is it.
- Victoro311

The Canucks want 3 scoring lines. Who is Sutter going to play over. Not Sedin, not Horvat, not Burmistrov. All 3 are better offensive players. So there's really only one place for him to play. Plus he's playing hurt. Not that I'm a fan of his but there is some context here.

I'm just trying to figure out who has 3 goalies that the third would be an improvement.

Well, if he clears (which he will) that means Jarry or DeSmith will be brought up at least temporarily as I don't see them keeping all three down there if they did sign another goalie, and at this point I don't know who would take Niemi for free let alone via trade.

I’m curious who will get called up first. Jarry has the pedigree, but right now DeSmith is outplaying Jarry.

Any idea what the Pens will do?

Is Jarry the likely option? Or maybe a trade?

Edit: Seen that Desmith has better numbers but has never made the bigs before

My opinion and it is just an opinion is that Jarry will be brought up and Niemi will start in WB. The hope would be that Niemi somehow regains form. The Pens have two back to backs coming up in the next week and a half, so Jarry will play two games.

Leafs have Pickard for a nice low cap hit, what would it take to get him.

Vegas is also going to need a goalie so there's some competition.

not much. we just paid a 6th and middling prospect for him. i doubt they want to move him.

i think the guy we want to move is sparks...if he fits on your ahl team after the dust settles, a 7th would be more than enough.

Do you think that if it was Reaves that got waived Ryan Wilson would have already wrote 2 blogs about how great it was according to him? Speaking of Reaves he was the only one playing with any kind of pride or hustle that last game. I really don't mind him that much. The whole Wilson deterrence argument is misguided. Reaves is not a deterrent he is an ensurer of mutual assured destruction and he has some value there. Remember when OV tried to chop off Letangs foot? Remember when Orpik got slew footed? Those were times when 99% of the fans wanted some way to get vengeance. OV would not have been smiling when Reaves knocked his teeth out. Time to let it go. I'll always hate the trade but I dont hate then player. It's kind of nice to know we could go up against a goon team and have potentially Reaves, Sestito, Tinordi, and Pedan in the lineup just for that game.

Jarry because of pedigree and experience but if he has a bad game his leash will be very short.

This. RW has been using the "deterrent" tag line because he knows it will generate extra hits, and because he's blinded by hating the trade.

We don't need an AHL goalie and Is rather trade for Hammond or Hutchinson than Sparks.

I'd inquire about Malcolm Subban (currently out 4 weeks), call up Jarry until Subban is healthy, and then go with a Murray-Subban duo.

I thought 4C was being occupied by a twin?

They roll pretty even lines if last night is any example (couldn't be bothered looking further back), but I'm pretty sure he's not their 4C.

Edit: Care factor in this isn't great so just say I'm wrong & move forward!

Ok ok ok, so I had a little look.

Sutter 8 Games 1 goal 2 assists
Boner 5 games 1 goal 0 assists.

but it wasn't Niemis fault. Didn't all the players have tired legs due to Reaves playing?

I blame it all on the Crosby misconduct. All of it. All of the all. All his fault.

Seriously, if he doesn't get that misconduct, they only lose 6-1.
