Wow! Must have been off that wicked shot he took late in the game. MacDonald has been playing probably his best hockey since coming here and this happens. That's hockey. Bring up the giant.

I will give him credit, he even came back out there after and played hurt.

You have to. He deserves it. I thought he looked indifferent during the pre-season but he's played well. I was ready to say see ya', but he's been playing just fine. Now we get to see the 3 rookie Dmen. Hagg seems like the obvious choice to play with Provorov. Gostisbehere and Morin, with Morin playing the left side, was a frequent pairing during pre-season. That will be interesting. I don't think it's a lock Manning is automatically in.

You ask and you shall receive!! I would assume Morin gets the call up for sure, but will he sit for Manning is the question?

must have been that blocked shot.

Guess we'll see what Morin's got. MacDonald has had a strong last 5 games though.

This is where things get interesting. How much do we overlook AMac? Will Provorov soar to new heights? What do the pairs look like? Gudas hasn't been off to a quick start...does he get top minutes or is it thrust on Morin/Sanhiem?

That diving play immediately after he got hit was money

He's been fine after the first couple games, but I have to say I'm excited to see what these kids can do

That is what I would assume and like to see. For sure no way in hell you break up Hagg and Ghost.

first, i'll say amac has been a good player so far overall. i don't like seeing him get injured.

second, it's time to start the (frank)ing bus.

I'm worried these pairs with all these young guys scare Hakstol. I hope you are right for the most part. I would go...

Provorov-Gudas
Morin-Gostisbehere
Hagg-Sanheim

Might not be the best idea to split Hagg and Ghost but Hagg is playing like a vet. Morin and Sanheim are inexperienced and we're close to final cut players on the last day of camp.

That's exactly what I would do if Hagg/Ghost weren't money. If I was the coach, I'd keep those 2 together and see what pairs work around that. Your suggestion is what I'd use if nothing can work otherwise

Yup, you don't want all 3 pairs to be new so you leave Hagg/Ghost alone. Provorov/Gudas becomes the logical top/shutdown pair and you put the 2 kids together on the 3rd unit. Morin and Sanheim were paired together a lot last year at LHV so it's not like they are strangers.

AMac out 4-6 weeks. What's that mean? A bone fracture? Can a break heal that fast? Who takes his place? Manning or Morin?

It would be the logical choice since they are so familiar with each other.

Probably not to start at least. From what I've seen of Hak, it's almost a given that Manning goes back in the lineup Tuesday, and we see:

Provorov-Gudas
Even Hak doesn't like Manning enough to put him on the top pair.

Ghost-Hagg
If it ain't broke....

Sanheim-Manning
Sorry kid.

It would absolutely be, but I'm 99.9% convinced, sadly, that Hak will go with Manning first.

If this is the case then we may see them call up someone else. They are not going to call up Morin just to have him eat popcorn in the Cote suite.

They did that for the first four games with no intentions on putting him into the line up.
