Yeah, I gotta admit that one is pretty funny.

Has anyone ever heard the story of one the reasons why Dion Phanuef was voted Toronto's Captain? After being traded there the players were listening to a radio station and he just walked into the dressing room and changed the station on his arrival. Some felt like it was a guy who commanded respect. To me that was one of the stupidest things I've ever heard but he was voted Captain. He never turned out to be a very good one but that was the story told here.

I don't see anything ridiculous about the team voting a player an assistant captain to show they respect him and want him around. Doesn't mean I as a fan agree and want him around.

You ask and you shall receive!! I would assume Morin gets the call up for sure, but will he sit for Manning is the question?

Sucks for AMac, but I couldnt be more excited for the line-up and the possibilities that this gives the Flyers.

I look forward to seeing Provy not having to drag AMac around. I look forward to seeing Sanheim getting an extended look in the top 6.

As far as the youth movement for this team, this is a fantastic time to be a Flyers fan!

The false narrative that Provorov has to "drag" MacDonald around is really silly.

I feel like all it does is open the door for Manning. I'd much rather see AMac out there than Manning.

Bull!

Mac cut in looking to make something happen. Simmonds passed him the puck and was forced to cover his point. I love Simmonds but he's not a guy I want covering the point. Mac did not have to cut in looking to make something happen.

That absolutely is possible but where would he be slotted?

Hopefully the Flyers dont go inthe Manning direction, long term here.

The ice time he gets with Provorov, especially with other options available, would seem to refute it. Just sayin'

Again, Provy is stuck dragging AMac around.

It sucks one assclown can take one comment, out of everything i said, and focus on that.

Everything I was speaking about was related to the youth movement and that ass clown only want to talk about one silly comment.

Yes of course, but only sort of. He really has been an impact player thus far in my eyes, and that line has been far more inert in his absence. It would be like taking TK off of the Patrick line. Both of those guys win puck battles you wouldn't necessarily expect them to.

We really miss Weal on the 2nd PP too...

Your opinion that Provorov drags MacDonald around refutes itself. No need to prove it wrong.

The eventual lockout/work stoppage that will follow the 19-20 season will likely end with an agreement that includes at least one, if not two, free buyouts. That should solve the problem.
- BiggE

If Hextall's still the GM.... he'll trade the 2nd best D-man for 3 first-round picks and keep that pipeline humming.

I have no idea if this is sarcasm but it does feel like we're in a never ending rebuild.

I'm worried these pairs with all these young guys scare Hakstol. I hope you are right for the most part. I would go...

Provorov-Gudas
Morin-Gostisbehere
Hagg-Sanheim

Might not be the best idea to split Hagg and Ghost but Hagg is playing like a vet. Morin and Sanheim are inexperienced and we're close to final cut players on the last day of camp.

- SuperSchennBros

Can't split up Hagg-Ghost at this point. Let's speculate it stays that way for argument's sake. I'd love to see:
Provorov-Sanheim
Ghost-Hagg
Morin-Gudas

I think Provorov is defensive enough to keep that top line from being a combo that's "too" offensive and that third pairing is still mobile enough to stay together and DAMN they'd be intimidating out there. That's a gorgeous D corps.

No, I mean that. Look at Pittsburgh and Chicago. They lose studs and keep contending b/c of their prospect gems. If we did find ourselves in a scenario where we have three huge defensive contracts, and we're looking at crossing the cap, Hextall could trade the 2nd best D-man for at least 2 1st's, using Brayden Schenn as context.

Considering the flyers haven't even recalled morin yet I think you see manning at the very least for Tuesday. With Myers Brennan out phantoms are thin also.

Provorov will play both sides simultaneously, no need to replace AMac.

MacDonald 5 million can go to someone. Filpula 5 million reads 3.5 lehtera 4.7 our goaltending tandem at 5 million vs our guys who will be on elc. We have money available it's just invested poorly right now. But like any great team eventually we will lose somebody we don't want to lose. Happened plenty to Chicago and the pens. That's when we will see how good hextall really is.
- Tfaehner

I think that player will be Simmonds he's going to get a massive raise when his contract is up
